Another week without Daddy

Well it was another long week without Daddy. Jeremy left for TN on Sunday and returns today (Friday). He has started his agent training. He will be in TX next week and then the following week back to TN for the whole week. We are glad we are moving in 2 weeks so we don't have to keep missing him during the week. Even though daddy was gone, we still had a good week. We went to the mall on Tuesday to meet some friends for lunch. After lunch we let the kiddos play at the playcenter. They had a ball crawling through tunnels and crawling all around. Wednesday we took Jake to the vet. He has been on a diet. And i am happy to report he has lost 10lbs! We are so proud of him. He has about 10 more to go. Thursday we went to a playdate at our friends' Amy and Vince's house. Chandler had a good time. Today we went to a huge sale baby consignment sale in Plano. They rent out the convention center and fill it with baby toys, clothes, strollers, highchairs etc. You name it, they have it! I got Chandler a few toys and a couple outfits for the fall. But the highlight was finding her a Halloween costume for $7.00! You will have to wait and see what she will be this year. Jeremy was able to get an earlier flight back today. So we will be headed to the airport shortly to pick him up. Yay, we can't wait to see daddy!

A Big Scare

Chandler gave me a big scare today. It was mid-morning and i was in the kitchen doing dishes. Chandler was in the family room playing with her toys. The room is blocked off by a gate and some closed doors, so she can't escape. My cell rang and i answered it. I had to go look something up on the computer for the person on the phone. So i went down the hall to the office. I was on the phone/computer for about 1 minute. I hung up and came back into the family room and Chandler was not there. I looked behind the couches and down the hall. But she was no where. My heart started racing. I started calling for her, totally expecting her to answer, even though she is a baby. I was racing around looking for her when i heard some nosies upstairs. The dog was with me, and so my heart dropped. I raced up the stairs and followed the nosie into the playroom. And there was Chandler as happy as ever playing with her leggos. I wanted to strangle her and hug her at the same time. It appears i did not latch the door behind me when i went to the office and she pushed her way out of the family room and climbed the stairs (without me watching her) and found her toys. I am glad she was happy and had no idea how bad she had scared me. I am thankful to the angels who were watching over her as she happily climbed over 20 stairs to the playroom!

Our New House

Well we did it. We found a house! We took 2 days and looked at approx 28 houses. We narrowed it down to 2 houses and then on Friday evening we decided on the one we wanted and made an offer. The seller accepted it an hour later. We were very lucky we got the house we wanted as there was already an offer on it, but the seller had not accepted it yet. The house is in a neighborhood called Westhaven. All the houses have big wrap around porches and porch swings. The residents are very friendly and it is full of moms and little kids. The house is 2500 sq ft. Our current house is 3400 sq ft. So that is qutie a bit of downsizing we will be doing. But it will be worth it as Jeremy and i both love the house. We are so excited to get back to TN and get setteled. I have posted a few photos below. The first is the house. The 2nd is a view of our side porch. And the 3rd is the back yard. The yard is not big, but there is plenty of walking trails and space for Jake to run in the parks. Chandler and i are headed to TN 09/13 for good! Jeremy will have to stay behind with the moving men and then he will drive the car with Jake down on the 16th. We can not wait! Or have i mentioned that already?!

Off to TN

Jeremy and i are headed to TN tomorrow for our house hunting trip. We are so excited! We are hoping to leave there on Sunday with a signed contract. We are also hoping we will get a good deal on our new house, since it is a buyers market right now. Jeremy's mom (whom is known as Sparky) has come to stay with Chandler while we are gone. Sparky arrived on Monday and has spent the past few days letting Chandler warm up to her. And Chandler has. So i have a peace of mind that my baby is in good hands while i am gone. We will only be gone for 3 nights but i know i will miss my baby girl terribly. I will be sure to update with the results of our house hunt on our return to TX.

Trying new things

This week Chandler has really been crusing and crawling around the house. She has never really taken an interest in our stairs, but this week was different. She was checking them out early in the week so i started trying to teach her to crawl up them. After 2 tries she was a pro. Now if you put her on the floor she will beeline for the stairs and be up 3 or 4 of them before you can even get to her. I have included a photo below.
On Thursday Jeremy and i went to Toys R Us and got Chandler a radio flyer wagon. We took her for a walk in it that night and she LOVED it! I look am looking forward to getting to TN and putting both Chandler and her cousin Hannah in it and taking them on walks to the park or the pool.
Jeremy decided while he is in transition of his new job that we would grow a goatee. I think he looks very sexy and handsome. He on the other hand is not too sure about it. He complains all the time about how bad it itches and hurts. I ask him why does he not shave it then? His reply is "because you like it Joy." Isn't that so sweet, that he is suffering for me?!

Happy Birthday Jake

Today is Jake's 5th birthday. I know he is as Jeremy would say "just a dog". But he is more than that to me. He is like my first baby. And i love him dearly. He and i have been through a lot together. When we moved to Ohio right after J and i got married, i did not work for 3 months. it was the dead of winter and very lonely. J worked a lot of evenings and traveled a lot. Jake really kept me company and sane! When we moved to TX, again J traveled a lot. I was pregnant and did not know anyone. Jake kept me great company as we awaited Chandler's arrival. I know, and so do you all, that Jake is a bit of a handful. But he is a very sweet dog. And i am very happy that he is a part of our family. So here's to you Jake: Happy, happy birthday! I love you buddy!
