A Hodge Podge

I found all these forgotten photos on my computer that I never blogged about. I thought I would do a random post with all of them in it.  Last month my friend Gina and I did a play date swap.  Our kids are a year apart but go to the same preschool 2 days a week. So one day I picked up both kids and brought them home to eat lunch and play. And one day Gina did the same.  That meant we each had from early morning until about 1:30pm with no child. We both got so much done.  After lunch I let C & C watch a little
"Mike the Knight".  They were entranced.

Then it was time for Legos. I was surprised at how well and long they played with them.  My C did get a little bossy at times, but what can I expect. She is 4 and a girl!!

I am so blessed to have met Gina.  She is one of my favorite friends here.  They moved here almost 2 years ago and now they are moving back to St. Louis.  It makes my leaving a little easier to know she will not be living here either anymore!

We have continued with our Saturday morning gymnastics class. One of C's favorite is walking on the beam. Here she was doing her high kick while walking.

Sometimes C will try to get in our bed early in the morning. Like 4 am.  This particular morning Jeremy had slept on the couch downstairs.  I didn't even hear her get in my bed.  But this is what I found when I woke up.

A few weeks ago when Sparky came to visit we picked her up at the airport.  We had a few minutes to kill so C got to throw pennies in the small fountain.  She loves doing that.

She was barefoot because her shoes were from last year and were too small.  But I didn't know that until we got to the airport.

We went and saw "The Lorax" in 3D one rainy Sunday.  You will notice that we popped our own popcorn at home and brought it in!! I am so cheap when it comes to the movies.  I have a special purse that use to be a diaper bag.  I kept it and always load it down with my contraband when we go to movies!

One sunny Thursday Daddy cut out of work early and met us at the zoo. We got to see the sea lion be fed and check out some animals. The wolves who are never doing anything but sleeping were running around chasing each other and being really silly. I do believe the animals were enjoying the sunny day as well.

Lastly we sold my car!  I love my car!!  I know it is the smart thing to do as Jeremy will be getting a company car.  So I will get his car. It makes sense to get rid of the gas guzzler. But I will still miss it. I have had since C was just a baby.  We listed it on Craigslist, Auto Trader and Ebay Motors. After a short 2 weeks on the sites Jeremy sold it to a retired military man.  He gave us a down payment to hold the car. Now we are waiting on the check from his bank.  So i will only get to drive another week or so.  When J told me he sold it I had to go out to the garage and give it a kiss goodbye on the hood.  Have I mentioned I LOVE my car!!

Down To The Lake

Last Sunday the weather was beautiful.  C convinced Daddy to take her down to the lake to feed the fish and ducks bread.  She told me they had to eat too!

Here fishie fishie. Here duckie duckie.

I wasn't there but I heard all about it.  I got to go shopping for some spring/summer clothing for our girl.  I was able to find some awesome deals and except for pajamas I think she is set for the upcoming seasons.

When she got home she had to show Daddy her rock star glasses. She loves strutting around the house in them telling us she is a rock star.

On The Move Again

Welcome to Arizona, our new home!

Yep that is right. Jeremy got a promotion and we are headed to Phoenix, Arizona!!  When Jeremy went out there a few weeks ago for his interview I got to tag along and check out the area.  Jeremy wanted to make sure that if he got the job that I would be okay with living out there.  AZ is beautiful. Mountains to be seen everywhere.

We had a realtor drive us around one day to show us some different areas. Then the next day we checked some out by ourselves. This is the view from the clubhouse of one of the neighborhoods we looked at.  It felt like a resort. Beautiful mountain views from the backyards.  It was breathtaking!

A cute picture of the two of us. Except it looks like Jeremy has either smoke flames or devil horns emerging from his head!

When we told C we were moving to AZ she was so excited!  We had been talking about moving to her a little bit these last few weeks.  We promised her that if we did move to AZ she would be able to have a pool in her backyard.  Everyone is excited about that part.

Jeremy's start date is mid-April. We are hoping to go back out to AZ in the next couple weeks to house hunt.  And hopefully be moved out there by the end of May.  This move will be bittersweet for me. I have made some wonderful friends here.  And I really will miss them.  But I am excited for Jeremy and all the new adventures that are waiting for our family in our new home, Arizona!!

Boogie Oogie Oogie

Last weekend C and I attended a really fun dance party with my moms group.  One of the most creative moms in the group Amy, organized a Boogie Oogie Oogie dance for all the kiddos. She rented out a small town hall. Amy provided the decor and tunes and everyone brought snacks.

There are some really sweet kids in our group. C loved dancing with all her friends.

I had asked them all to stop dancing and smiling at me.  C couldn't be bothered. She just kept on dancing. Her daddy would've been proud!

They had fun spinning and chasing each other all around the room.

Love the look of pure joy and excitement on her face!

All the kids were mesmerized by the disco ball.  I let C snack on tons of fun goodies.  And I won't lie, I did too!

Needless to say she had no problem falling asleep that night. She was out minutes after I tucked her in and slept for almost 12 hours straight!

Lazy Day

Last Thursday we were suppose to have a friend come over and play after school. But those plans feel through.  Since it was cold, wet and dreary outside we decided to have a lazy day after school.  We came home and both put our comfy pajamas on.

C settled on the couch to watch a movie while I curled up in the recliner to read my book.

This picture cracks me up. She looks like she only has a head.

We had a picnic lunch on the floor and then I let her enjoy some popcorn while she finished her movie.

This girl LOVES popcorn and can heat a whole bag by herself if we let her.

After quiet time it was time to paint until Daddy came home form work. C is not much of a craft girl. She would rather play with her toys than do a craft.

But on this day she painted one picture after another. I asked her to smile and this is what she gave me.  Silly girl!

I am not a fan of the long, cold winters here. But I do enjoy them every now and then to take advantage of a lazy day.

Forgotten Photos

I found a bunch of pictures on the computer that I had obviously forgotten to blog about.
I told you C loves tea parties. This particular afternoon she decided to have a Mexican one.

All her guests enjoyed the apple juice and peanuts.

Sparky and Pops sent C a cool gift back in December.  It is a butterfly inside a jar that is on a wire. When you tap on the jars lid the butterfly will flutter and move about.  We had her convinced it was real for a few weeks.

She named it Rosie and talked to it all the time. She started asking when she could help me feed it and when we would set it free.  I finally told her it was a fake.  She was pretty crestfallen. It was sad.

I was trying to take a cute picture of C in her Steelers cheerleader outfit.  She told me "no pictures mom". Jake followed her. Apparently monkey see, monkey do.

Ever since C has started gymnastics class in January, she has loved to show off all her moves.

Doing a split and holding on for dear life.

Meet our resident butterfly catcher.

Got to love the goggles on upside down!

Demonstrating her new found confidence from gymnastics.  She used to never walk the higher beams. That is all she wants to do now.

Getting ready to jump into the foam pit.

One day when we were at TJ Maxx she saw a My Little Pony and asked if she could have it.  I normally do not buy her random toys when she asks. But it was on clearance for about 80% of the regular price.  And she asked so sweetly that I gave in. Stinker!

Playing in the basement before bedtime.

She was pretending that Jake was a baby and she was feeding him with a spoon. I don't think Jake was happy with the game.

Looks like he could be saying "Save me Mom."

Her hair was getting super long. It had not been cut since August.

So to the salon we went. Her hair is gorgeous long, but gets very tangled and hard to manage.

Being such a good customer.

Her after look. We cut about 3 inches off and added some layers. It has been much easier to brush and manage. And she looks just as cute.

We have had a lot going on lately and I will try to post again soon.
