Daddy Date

This morning C and daddy had a date. He took her to the zoo. They saw lot of animals, watched the seal get fed, fed the fish and even played a game of hide and seek at the zoo. Sounds like a pretty good date to me.

C and a baby kangaroo.

As you can tell it was pretty cold today. Once i saw the temperature I decided to stay at home in my pj's and let them go by themselves.

I'm not quite sure how he got her to smile in all these pictures.

I love spending time with C. But I love when she gets to spend time alone with her daddy just as much. I took advantage of my alone time by lounging on the couch in my pj's watching some of my shows, had a chai tea latte and took a long hot shower. I think I had as much fun at they did!

Grandad's Visit

Grandad (my dad) came up for Thanksgiving. He lives in TN and C had not seen him since her birthday. So she was pretty excited. It was really cold while he was here but we still tried to get out and do some things.

We took him to the Children's Museum. This is always a fun place to go with the grandparents. They played in the store for awhile. C practiced her numbers as she rang up items for Grandad.

They gave a check up to a baby.

Then it was time to give C a check up.

Nope, no bugs in there.

She showed us how she can drive the tractor.

And even took Grandad for a ride.

While everyone in our town was hitting the malls on black Friday, we headed over to the library. They have an awesome play room for the kids there.

They put on a puppet show. C loved saying "Ladies and gentleman.." over and over and over.

We even checked out Chuckee Cheese.

She did not want to sit and pose for the picture. I had to use Santa to get her to sit back down and smile. I sure will be sad when Christmas is over and I can't use him as leverage anymore!

Her favorite was the roller coaster.

This one is kind of blurry but I thought it was pretty cute.

While Grandad was here "Uncle" Jim came to visit too. He and Grandad were roommates in college. I can't believe she is smiling AND looking at the camera!

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Jeremy made a fabulous feast for us. I thought it was his best one yet! I told him he better make all that food again on Christmas. I am so glad that Grandad got to come up and spend time with us, but especially C. She was so happy he was here and loved on him a lot!!

All Her Faces

One afternoon I went up to C's room to let her know "quiet time" was over. I found all her friends lined up and facing her. She told me that they were all in preschool and she was the teacher. She was teaching them how to hop and spin and do ring around the Rosie. This girl has quite the imagination!!

Instead of coming out of her room she told me she wanted to show me all her faces.

Her surprised face.

Her mad face.

Her sad face.

Her confused face.

Her happy face.

I think they have been learning about feelings and emotions in preschool lately. I love all this beautiful girls' faces.

C-H-A-N-D-L-E-R

For the last few weeks C's preschool has been having the kids working on recognizing their names. She knows her name starts with a C. She always asks me how to spell her name. I tell her and then she tries to repeat it back to me. She knows most of the letters but gets the order mixed up. So you can imagine my surprise when on the way to preschool on Wednesday morning she tells me she can spell her name and then does just that! When we returned home later that morning she did it again. See for yourself right here !!

Rocked To Sleep

I told you our girl likes to sleep in some strange places. But this one takes the cake!

Her leg that is bent up looks so uncomfortable. She didn't even stir when Jeremy moved her to her bed. I wonder if she would have stayed there all night if we didn't check on her!

Who's Sleeping In Her Bed

Every night about an hour after we put C to bed, I go up to check on her. This night I went over to her bed and found her "friends" sleeping in it. I love how she pulled the covers up on them. Also whenever she makes her friends go to sleep they sleep face down.

And this is where C was.

I know I've said it before and I will say it again. I don't care where she sleeps as long as she does it.

Jingle Bell Run

This afternoon I ran a 5K. The race was the Jingle Bell Run. It benefited arthritis. All runners were encouraged to dress festive and there was a costume contest. The best costume I saw was a man dressed as giant presents. He wore a big box, with 2 other boxes stacked on top. They were all wrapped in Christmas wrapping paper & bows. They were at least 10 feet high above his head. He even ran the race wearing his presents. I have not ran a 5K or in any race since before I got pregnant with C. It has probably been more than 4 years. I did not train for the race by running. I hit the gym about 4 times a week and do cross training, fitness classes and weights. I thought I was in shape to run a 5K....

I had 2 goals for the race. I wanted to finish in under 35 minutes and I wanted to run the whole way. Did I fulfil my goals? Sadly I did not. I ran all the way up until about 2.5 miles. Then I had to walk. The wind was blowing so hard. It was cold. My lips were burning. I was so thirsty. I wanted to just lay down on the road. So I stopped to walk for a bit. I stopped 2 other times just for a few minutes each. If I had not stopped to walk I would have made in under 35 minutes. But my time was 37:17.

It is hard to run a race, especially by oneself. So I was so happy that I had my cheerleaders there to cheer me on. After the race I came home, scarfed down lunch, took a shower and then hit the bed. I was exhausted. I think next time I run a race I will make sure to train with more running!

Just Because

On Thursday for MOPS I decided to dress both C and I up. For no special reason, just because.

It wasn't until after we got our picture taken that I realized we had on very similar outfits.

All the pictures would have been cute, if only C would have been looking at the camera when she smiled.

After MOPS, we went and met Daddy at his office and took advantage of the Chik-fil-a they have there. No special reason, just because.

Again, not sure what she is looking at. Well at least she is smiling!

Mommy & Me Photo Session

One evening after C's bath, I thought she was looking especially cute. So I did a photo session with just the 2 of us. Not to bad, considering I was the photographer.

I was hoping that I was not cutting my head off in the pictures.

This one is a weird angle. And wow does my hair look long!

My favorite!!

Halloween Parties

I realize am a bit late on this post. But here it is anyways. C had a class Halloween party at her school. I was on the party committee and so not only did I get to help plan the party, I got to stay for it too. The kids started off with a parade.

Pin the nose on the pumpkin.

Working hard on her masterpiece. Notice the only color she chose to use is black.

And we can't forget the class picture. I love how all the superheroes are sitting next to each other.

On the Friday before Halloween, I hosted a Halloween play date.

All the kids.

Apparently batman was a popular costume this year.

Going fishing at a game at our moms group Halloween party.

There's my big superhero!

We had so much fun with C this year celebrating Halloween. She and I had fun wearing our matching costumes. We look forward to all the fun in the years to come.
