How She Loves Him

One of C's favorite playmates is Jake.  Oh how she loves that dog.  I was making dinner one night and she told me that Pippi Longstocking was in the house. (He looks so embarrassed.  Maybe he knew he would end up on the Internet!)

She had a tea party one afternoon and everyone had to wear fancy jewels.  Jake chose to wear silver necklace. Okay maybe C chose his jewelry.

After coming home from a birthday party, she had to share the toys in her goodie basket with him.  She just knew he would want that butterfly on his head.

One night Jake was running a fever and was pretty lethargic.  I told her he didn't feel well and we had to leave him alone.  She gave him a kiss goodnight on his head and headed to bed.  A little while later when I went to check on Jake, this is what i found. In the morning she told me that Wolfie loves to snuggle and would make Jake feel better. Oh, I love how she loves him!!

Wash That Grey....

You know how that song goes.  "I'm gonna wash that grey right out of my hair."  Yes, I am sad to admit that I have grey hairs.  All those fine hairs that look really light blond are actually grey.  They are beginning to pop up all over my head.

I have been debating on a few weeks on how to tackle the problem.  Either cover it up with my now natural dark color at home from a box. Or hit the salon and go lighter and pay the money.

You can see which I chose.  Not the best picture.  But you get the idea.  Jeremy really likes it a lot.  He was never a fan of my darker hair, even though I have assured him it is now my natural color.   In person it is a big change and I am still trying to get use to it.  But I do like it and am glad hubby does too!

Daddy Daughter Day

A few Saturdays ago C got to spend the whole day with Daddy. We didn't plan it, it just worked out that way.  Maya got her some gymnastic lessons for a Christmas gift. She  goes on Saturday mornings for an hour and loves it!! I scored her cute gymnastic outfit from a friend for a whole $1!!
Daddy took her to class and I was suppose to pick her up.  But i hit the gym and the grocery store and it took longer than i thought. So Daddy went back to get her. The first class we tried to stay and watch her but she kept looking at us the whole time and smiling. She would not pay attention.  So now we have to leave.

After class I met up with them for a quick lunch at McDonald's. They have an awesome new chicken sandwich. It is similar to the one at Chik Fil A.  Then Daddy whisked her away for Beauty & The Beast in 3D. Complete with popcorn.

After the movie they came home and talked about going sledding. I had just gotten out of the shower and into some warm pajamas. So I opted to stay home.  So just the 2 of them went.  From the videos and stories it is safe to say they had lots of fun!!

Make New Friends

Each time we have moved to a new home with State Farm I always stress and worry about us making new friends. In each place we have lived I have belonged to a moms group through meet up.com.  And in each group I have made some wonderful friends through it for C and myself.  One of the those moms is Amy.  A few months ago we started a play date swap once a month.  Jeremy was traveling all last week, so Amy invited C over to play with her daughter Madison. We met at the library and then Amy took the girls home. That was around 11:30.  She returned C at 3:15. That is a long time!! After a few hours I did not know what to do with myself!!  Amy is a very crafty mom. She helped the girls make these awesome polar bear masks!

They are only a few months apart and play wonderful together.  Madison is set to come to our house on Tuesday for the afternoon.  Amy and I love that we can drop our kids off and get some "me" time for free. The girls love it too.

On Tuesday we had Lia over for a ballerina play date.

So cute in their tutu's.

Jake was so excited that there was someone else to play with besides C.  He just had to give some love to Lia.

After dancing they played in C's room.  Jake followed them.  Unfortunately for him, they proceeded to give him a makeover.  He sat still for the hair brushing but it became another story when they tried to put "pretend" perfume and eye shadow on him!

Later that day C's "boyfriend" Ben, from preschool came over to play.  This is their 2nd year in class together.  They play so sweetly together.  C really knows some very sweet boy-friends.  Ben and her are zoned for the same elementary school so hopefully their friendship will continue to grow.

They were showing me their chipmunk faces. Just a mouth full of grapes.

C's preschool class went bowling on a field trip 2 weeks ago.  I went as well and had lots of fun with all the sweet kids.  This is C and Mallory.  Such cute girls!

I don't have any pictures but on Thursday C went to play at Paige's house for a few hours after preschool.  I had a dentist appt and so Krysta picked up the girls from preschool and took them home.  I am so thankful that C has made some really sweet friends. These are a just a few of them.  I am also thankful for the sweet friends I have made.  As I get older I find it harder and harder to make friends.  I have some really good friends in other parts of the country, but it feels so good to making some here too.

Ole Man Winter Has Arrived

We got our first snow for the winter on January 12th.  It started coming down after midnight and by morning everything was covered.  It was maybe 3 inches at the most but the wind was blowing really hard and so there was lots of drifts.  After preschool and lunch C had to go play in it.

Making her first snow angel of the season.

She was trying to bury herself in it as one would do so with sand.

My big happy snow girl.

On Friday evening she helped Daddy snow blow the driveway and sidewalks.

She loved it and was pretty proud of herself.

After all her hard work with Daddy she came in to some hot chocolate milk.

Then we finished the snowy day off with homemade taco soup.  There is nothing I like better than hot soup on a cold, snowy day.  Especially with lot of cheese in it.  Everyone gobbled it up.

Today the temperatures are back up in the mid 40's and all the snow is melting.  But we are suppose to get some more flurries tonight and tomorrow.  I guess winter has finally arrived!

Deja Vu

You might recall a post I wrote last year where daddy and C ran out across the snow covered front yard barefoot.  Well it seems like stupidity can repeat itself.  C wanted to go play in the snow so daddy was trying to convince her to go out barefoot.  Oh and apparently with no clothes either!

She is not sure she wants to go.

Daddy finally convinced her to do so.

They came right back in and got warned up, she told Jeremy she wanted to go play outside in the snow for real. Jeremy told her to go put her snow gear on....so she did!  Or at least some of it!

Four & A Half

I woke up this morning to C standing beside my bed with the biggest smile on her face and then she exclaims "I am 4 and half today!!".  Daddy was out of town but he called to sing her Happy Half Birthday! She was beaming with pride.

She picked out what she wanted to wear and got herself dressed.

It was a school day so we got to take a birthday treat to share with her class. We sent 30 cookies and 2 lbs of grapes for 20 kids. I was surprised when cookies came back home but all the grapes were eaten.

After school I took C to Sonic for a special lunch.

She insisted on rolling down the window to enjoy the weather.

Chowing on tater tots in the front seat, her favorite!!

Her present from her teachers.

So excited to see it is a book!

I told her to show it to me and this is what i got!

The weather was in the mid-50's so we played in the backyard.  I found her some water guns.

I offered to help her put the stopper back on the gun but she told me that she was 4.5 now and she could do it herself.

Even though she tells me she is a really big kid now, I guess she is never too old to snuggle with Cupcake.

I can not believe that she is now 4.5!! It really does just seem like a few months ago that she was 2 years old.  She really is turning into a big kid.  She is becoming more independent everyday.  She is a very outgoing, compassionate, smart child.  I am so proud of her and who she is becoming. Happy half birthday big girl!!
