A day in the life

Some of my friends that work like to tease me about what i do all day. They always ask if i sit on the couch watching Oprah and eating bon bons all day. So i thought i would blog about a typical day.

8:00 am --Chandler wakes up. We eat eat breakfast and then she plays while i get cleaned up and dressed. She has found a new favorite spot to play. By the back door. She was happily playing with her babies.

9:00am-- we load up in the car and run to the post office to mail some packages and then to the pharmacy.

10:00am--off to a playdate at Joanne and Mia's. It was a Mardi Gras theme--hence the purple and beads. Chandler and Hailey can not be bothered from their tea party to pose for the photo.

12:00pm--I took Chandler and Jake for a walk. It was about 65* and we were taking advantage of the weather. I think they both were checking out some barking dogs.

12:30pm--I feed Chandler and myself lunch.
1:00pm--Back in the car to grocery shop. Chandler had a big pee and wet her onesie and pants. I have long since stopped carrying a change of clothes for her. So we checked out Goodwill and then Dollar General for a clean outfit. I stripped her down right in the Kroger shopping cart.

With her clean, dry outfit!

2:30 -- Stop by Sonic for my happy hour drink!

2:30--Chandler naps and i do housework (laundry, clean out the car, empty dishwasher, tidy kitchen, dust, update my blog.
4:30--take Chandler to the park before i start dinner.

5:00--make beef enchiladas for dinner.
5:30--Jeremy is home and we eat dinner.
6:30 Chandler plays for a bit. We have taught her to help put her toys away before bath time.

7:00 pm-- Chandler gets a bath and then has some milk before bed at 8:00.
8:00--Clean up from dinner, fold laundry, tidy the bedroom.
8:30--relax with Jeremy, watch a little tv and off to bed by 10:00pm.
Whew! I'm tired!

New Friends

Since moving back to TN, i have been making an effort to make new friends. I have met 3 really nice moms in my neighborhood. They all have little girls withing 4 months of Chandler's age. Today we went to a playdate at Courtney and Anna's house. They are our newest friends. Karyn and Joanne and their girls were also there. Courtney made us a lunch of pizza and us and the girls had a yummy lunch and then we let the kids play.

Chandler and Hailey " My future's so bright, i gotta wear shades!"

Chandler and Hailey got it down, but Anna refuses to keep hers on.

We noticed it got quiet and then we found all 4 kiddos in the laundry room.

Anna had this cool tent and all the kids loved playing in it and on it. Her mom got it at a consignment store for $1.99. We are on the lookout for one now too.

I am so proud of myself for making new friends. I find the older that i get, the harder it is to make new friends. So i am happy that i have found 3 good new ones right here in my neighborhood.

Prayer Request

I figured since so many people look at this blog i would use it to ask for a prayer request. A friend Jennifer from MOPS was expecting a baby. Long story short the baby, Luke, was born on 02/22/09 at 24 weeks gestation. He weighed 1lb and oz. The dr's have told Jennifer and her husband Chad to expect a roller coaster ride with Luke in NICU. So i am asking for prayers for Jennifer, Chad and Luke. I have one more request, if you do say a prayer for this family and their sweet baby boy, please leave me a comment to let me know.

More Fun with Friends

On Friday evening we went to have dinner with our good friends Karyn, Andy and Hailey. Karyn cooked us a yummy spaghetti dinner complete with garlic bread. Yum! Chandler loved the meat and sauce. I think she had 3 bowls full. After dinner the girls played with Hailey's toys.

Then it was time to get all clean. Bath time is always more fun when shared with a friend.

After getting all cleaned it was getting close to bedtime so we said our goodbyes and headed home. Good thing they live in the neighborhood, so it was quick ride home. It was so nice to have an evening out with friends. We look forward to many more dinner playdates as the weather gets warmer.

Crafts at NHC

Today we made out monthly trip to NHC--which is a senior living facility--with our MOPS group. We usually go once a month to visit the seniors and do a craft or have a story time. I usually try to bring a fun snack to share. This time i brought homemade choc dipped strawberries in honor of Valentine's day. I meant to take a photo but forgot.

Impatiently waiting for Momma to load up the car. By the way, thanks for the pretty dress Aunt Jenn!

Working on hard on her craft.
One of the residents. Lucille, wanted to hold Chandler. But Chandler only wanted her Momma.

Chandler and her good buddy Ella Grace. We are working on her getting to sit more like a lady when she is wearing a dress. :)

With Hailey--Chandler's other favorite playmate.

All the kids and moms had a good time. I think the seniors like it too. They are always so interested in the kids and talking and holding them.

Pajama Storytime

We have a wonderful library here in Franklin. It is big and clean and has wonderful chicldrens activities. Tonight we went to the Pajama Storytime. All the kids are invited to come in their pj's for a story and then have some milk and cookies. Jeremy came with us and we met my dad. Karyn & Hailey and Julianne & Ella Grace there. Chandler loves books and loves to read so she had a wonderful time with her family and friends.

I am so glad that we can do these types of activities with our family and good friends. We are so grateful that we are making new good friends. I look forward to Chandler growing up with these girls.

Fun at Playdates

We have had a busy week. On Tuesday we went to Chuck E Cheese. We love this place. All the games are only 25 cents. And i bought a Chuck E cup so all my drinks are free. Chandler loves all the rides and i like that she can run around inside. Look for photos from this playdate in a future post. On Thursday we went to a playdate at Alex's house in the morning and then in the afternoon we met our friends Karyn and Hailey at the Kids Corner at our residents club for more playtime.

Food and Friends

The past 2 days we have enjoyed good food with good friends. Last night Karyn and Andy and their daughter Hailey came over for dinner. Jeremy made yummy chicken burritos. It was impromptu dinner but we loved it. They came over and we ate and the girls played together. Hailey and Chandler are both walking but Hailey decided to crawl around a bit and then of course Chandler had to join her. It was so cute to see them crawling down the hallway, just b/c they don't ever crawl anymore. I wanted to take a photo but couldn't find my camera.

Then this morning my old friends from college came over. Everyone has kids except for Jenny who is expecting her first in June. We had a yummy homemade tomato soup courtesty of Jeremy, wheat bread and brownies and ice cream for dessert. The kids had a blast running around with each other. It is hard to get the 4 of us together at once. So we really enjoyed the time.

Happy Valentine

Jeremy and I do not celebrate Valentine's Day. We think it is kind of stupid to need a day to say i love you. But Chandler had a great Valentine's Day. She got Valentines cards from her Sparky, Pops, Grandad, Cousin Hannah and Bob, Judy and Bentley in TX. Sparky and Pops also sent her a surprise love package. I tried to get a photo of the contents of the box but my battery died. It had the cutest 2 outfits in it. Now i just need the weather to warm up so she can wear them!

Love the mickey mouse wrapping paper. Good job Sparky!

Knowing just what to do.

Chandler thanks everyone for thinking of her on V-Day!

Great Deals

Chandler can't wait to wear this at Easter!

This morning we met our good friend Karyn at a baby consignment sale. It was crazy. The doors opened at 9:30 and when i arrived at 9:20 the line was out the door. Luckily Karyn was already in line and we got to sneak in with her. I had Chandler with me and it was so hard to try to lookthrough all the clothes all the while holding her. We found 2 super cute outfits for the spring.

Valentine Playdate

Today Chandler and i invited some friends over for a Valentine's playdate. I asked all the moms to dress themselves and babies in red or pink. All the kids looked so cute.

One of the moms brought these fancy, dancy cupcakes.

19 Months Old

I can not believe Chandler is 19 months old today!! It seems like she has turned into a toddler overnight. She is becoming more independent every day. She is so much fun to be with and i look forward to each day with her.

I love this photo of her.
Crazy bed head. Think she has some hair?!

Always such a happy girl.

Eating some snacks before heading to our free gymnastics class.

I think back about all the stress and heartache when we through to get pregnant. And to have this wonderful girl as my daughter now it was worth every heartache and disappointment. She was so worth the wait!

Long Overdue

For Christmas this year Jeremy and I decided not do to gifts for each other. We have done this the last couple yrs. As we figured there is nothing that we really want or need. Usually we both play by the rules. However this year Jeremy did not. He waited until after lunch and then asked me to come outside and this was out there!

Now keep in mind neither of us play golf. But in our neighborhood tons of people have golf carts. They drive them to the grocery store, the pool, the restaurants, the pharmacy. Jeremy and I talked about getting one when Chandler got a little older. So i was very surprised to see this in my driveway on Christmas day. But we have loved it. Chandler loves it the best. When ever we go into the garage she says "gof car" and runs and climbs up in it. She loves to go for rides in it, especially on bumpy roads. We are looking forward to using it more as it gets warmer.

You would think it was Spring

The last 2 days the weather here has been beautiful. It has been sunny and in the high 60's. So of course we have taken full advantage of the weather and been to the park many times. Chandler loves to go down the slides and also to climb the stairs.

Daddy and i heading for the big slide.

Checking to see how far the drop is

Hi Momma

The swings are so much fun!

The weather is suppose to be in the 60's through Tuesday. So if it doesn't rain we are going to try to go to the zoo. So check back soon.
