Summer Concert Fun

Every summer WH hosts a summer concert series. They get all types of bands to come play on the lawn. Everyone brings coolers and blankets and food. And it is free. We went last night and invited our friends Johnny and Julianne and their daughter Ella Grace. We also met up with Karyn, Andy and Hailey. All the kids at the concert were up front dancing to the bluegrass band.

Pinky Toes

This evening, i was touching up the nail polish on my toes and Chandler was sitting nearby watching me. So i asked her if she wanted me to paint her toenails. She said okay and so i told her to hold out her foot for me. But each time i went to paint the first nail she pulled her foot away. This went on for a few minutes so i asked her one more time if she wanted her toes like mommy's and she nodded. But this time she let me paint them. When i was done with the first foot, she tried to touch her toe nails, so i told her they were hot. So she helped me blow on them. It was too cute. I then painted the other foot.

I told Chandler she now had painted toes. She tried to say that but it came out as "pinky toes". So here she is so proud of her pinky toes!!

Fun at the Pool

The pool in WH has opened for the summer!! Mommy and me have already gone a few times. And as soon as this crazy rainy weather passes we will go a lot more.

One day last week my BFF Hailey and her mommy met us at the pool. We had to cheese it up for the photo.

All that swimming works up an appetite. Time for a snack break. Maybe one day our mommies won't squish us together in the same chair.

She's Famous!!

A little cafe opened up in Westhaven. It is called the Corner Cafe. Last week we went to have lunch there and check it out. The food was okay, the prices were not. But the best part was the photos on the wall. Seems our little Ms. Chandler is famous!

The Corner Cafe has an awesome play area to keep the kiddos occupied and happy.

Since becoming famous at the Corner Cafe, Chandler has to travel with her body guard wherever she goes. Good thing she watches Mickey and lets him get a quick nap.

Feeling the music

Chandler LOVES music! She takes after her daddy with that. This is a clip of her jamming to some music at the Memorial Day Block party on Sunday night. She's got much better rhythm than me!

Memorial Day Block Party

Every yr our neighborhood has a block party the weekend of Memorial Day. There is live music, food, beer, kids activities. Even though it was raining, over 500 people showed up. It was our first time going to a huge event in the neighborhood.

We saw our good friends Hailey and Karyn. Hailey was not a fan of the loud music. And it was loud!

Events like this are one of the main reasons we chose to live in this neighborhood. We hope you had a memorable Memorial Day too.

Johnson/Reneau Weekend

My best friend Jennifer came for a visit with her 2 daughters, Katie and Bree for a few days. The last time Chandler played with the girls was when she was 11 months old. But as soon as Katie and Bree were here Chandler was loving on them. She would say their names as one Katiebree. It was very cute. Katie is 4 1/2 and Bree is 2 1/2 so perfect ages to play with Chandler. The evening they arrived they had driven 10 hrs in the car from OK. We took the girls to the playground to run around and burn some energy.

On Friday it was really humid so we took the girls to the jump zone to jump in the inflatable bounce houses. In the evening we went to the only place where a kid can be a kid. You got it: Chuck E Cheese's!

Jennifer passed on Katie and Bree's old slide to Chandler. My dad will keep it in his backyard so Chandler will have something to play with when she is over there.

This morning we got up early and took the girls to our resort pool. It was a bit overcast and cloudy. But the girls still had fun.

I love this photo. To me it looks like, Bree has stolen a car and her and her and Chandler are going for a joyride in it!

We had a great visit with Jennifer and her girls. I know Chandler had a lot fun with them. We only wish it could have been longer!

Waiting on friends

Today my best friend Jennifer, is driving from OK to Franklin. She is traveling by herself with a 4yr old and a 2yr old. God bless her!! Since Jenn lives in OK we do not see each often. Our girls have only met 2 times. They arrive today and are staying through Saturday. So we are looking forward to lots of fun outings with the girls. We have lots of fun things planned. So i plan to take lots of photos and make lots of good memories.

Chandler and Hailey

I would say that Chandler's best friend is another little girl in the neighborhood name Hailey. Hailey is Karyn's daughter and is 5 months younger than Chandler. Because Karyn and I do lots of things together the girls are always together. Lots of time when we get in the car, Chandler will ask for Hailey. And when we do pull up to Hailey's house, Chandler always says "Hailey's house?" and then trys to get out of her car seat. Too cute.

I am so glad that Chandler has such a best friend right here in our neighborhood. They play so nicely together. I hope they will be best friends for yrs to come.

Bubble Fun

Chandler and I went to the park this afternoon and had some fun with bubbles and sidewalk chalk. I caught a few cute videos of her with her bubble wands. If you listen close and understand the talkings of a 2 yr old you can hear her tell her Parky and Pops that she loves them.

Tegan's Shower

On Saturday Rainer and I hosted a baby shower for our dear friend Karyn who is having a baby girl, Tegan this summer. Even though this is Karyn's 2nd baby we thought it should still be celebrated.

Gratitude Post

This post is long overdue... but better late than never.

I am thankful for:
1. Rainy days: where it is okay to lounge around in your pj's and not feel guilty doing nothing all day.
2. New friends: Karyn, Joanne, Courtney and Rainer. It is so hard to make friends as you get older. But you still need to.
3. Sonic gift cards: need i say more?
4. Chandler: the way she makes me feel so special and loved when she smiles at me.
5. Chandler's sweet friends who she loves so dearly: Hailey, Ella Grace, Mia and Presley.
6. Blogs: So i can keep up with friends that live far away and make some new ones in the blogging world.
7. Jeremy: he is such a good daddy to Chandler. I love to watch them play together. He is so sweet with her and she thinks he is the funniest thing ever.

Pink PJ Party

Tonight my MOPS had their yr end party. The theme was Pretty in Pink Pajama party and it was a 80's theme. We ate some yummy food, played some silly games and shared some girl talk.

In one game we were given a bag of random items and had to dress up one of our moms using all the items. There were things such as band-aids, razors, gum, aluminum foil, balloons. Some of the teams got really creative.

It was nice to get out and have some girl time. I am glad i joined MOPS and look forward to it starting again in the fall.

Swim Lessons

Chandler and i have begun a mommy and me swim lesson. I was very much looking forward to it. They are for 30 minutes a day for 1 week. We have been to 2 classes so far. But i am not impressed with it. The instructor does not seem very interested in helping the kids learn to blow bubbles, kick ect. She will tell us to have our kids do it but then does not offer any suggestions when they don't want to do it. Chandler likes the water okay but does not want to dunk her head or lay on her back with me supporting her in the water. She clings to me whenever i try to get her to do something. We have a class in 23 minutes, but Chandler took a late nap today and is still napping. Not sure we will make the class today.

22 Months Old

Chandler, you are 22 months old today! I am not sure where time has gone. You are the happiest baby i know. Your smile is contagious. You love to laugh and sing songs. You are learning your ABC's and nursery rhymes. You love playing with your baby's and rabbits. You love to sit them in the highchair with you when you eat and share your food with them. Your vocabulary is increasing everyday. You love to say "thank you" and today for the first time you said "you're welcome". You have also started saying "bless you" when people sneeze. Last night you even told that to Jake when he was having a sneeze attack. You LOVE Jake. You love to roll on the floor with him and lay back against him and watch tv. And he loves you too. Very much. I am so honored that GOD chose me as your mother. I feel so blessed that you are my child.

The Playhouse

If you know me well you know 2 things i have been talking about lately. Chandler's upcoming birthday and my desire to find Chandler an outdoor playhouse. I swear i search Craigslist EVERYDAY, a few times a day and was never quick enough to claim one. But look what we finally got last week!!

My dad picked it up on Wednesday and then Jeremy cleaned it and put it together today.

I think her face says it all! She was SO excited to start playing in it.

Playing is hard. She needs a snack break.


"Thank you for my playhouse Daddy!"

I saw the posting for the playhouse on Monday evening. The seller was in Franklin which was a bonus. She sent me multiple photos and i knew i had to have it! She said that there were 5 other people who had contacted her for the house. But since i was first she held it for me. Grandad was nice enough to pick it up for us in his truck and the rest is history. The playhouse is Chandler's big present for her 2nd birthday. She is a lucky girl that we gave it to her now and didn't make her wait until July! We are so looking forward to Hailey and Ella Grace coming over to have snacks and play in our new house!

A new friend

While we were here in Fl we had a lot of people to see. On Friday we went over to Gai Gai's house for lunch. She has a granddaughter a few months younger than Chandler. The girls were very nice to each other and looked so cute in their coordinating colors.

We had so much fun visiting all of our friends in Jacksonville and making new ones. We can't wait to come back.
