Meet Cameron Joy

Our girl is growing so fast.  These first few are from our 4 day hospital stay.

I love how sweet she looks when she sleeps. I also love her cute elephant shirt and the cute elephant blanket. Much better than the striped blankets or one with feet they had back when Chandler was born.  And perfect for a fall baby!

At our hospital they did not have a nursery for the babies. So the baby was with you 24/7 after it's birth. Even at night. It was exhausting recovering from major surgery and caring for a newborn. Jeremy was a rock star and stayed with me all 3 nights, sleeping on the small couch. And with Cameron.

Finally at home. I think she is 5 days old here. She looks so alert!

7 days old and headed back to the hospital for some testing.

I changed her diaper and she stayed asleep the whole time and then slept on my lap for over 45 minutes while we waited to be called back for our testing.

Doing what she does best at home, sleeping.

9 days old and waiting to pick up her big sister from school. It is still so hot here!!

We bought her this small crib for our room. This is the only time she slept in it. Every other time I put her in it, she will wake right up and start screaming. She apparently hates it! There goes a good $70 down the drain!

Getting some good snuggles with Momma.

She looks so little in her in big crib. She has only napped in it while I am doing things in her room. She is currently sleeping in her swing or in the bed with one of us at night. But i look forward to having my bed back and her moving to her crib as soon as she starts sleeping a little longer at night.

She is becoming more alert everyday and staying awake for longer periods of time. She is eating about every 2.5 -- 4 hours. She is a easy, calm baby. We are exhausted but so much in love!! She is so worth it!

Cameron's BIRTHday!!

I was set to have my c-section on Oct 13th with my doctor. But I guess baby Cameron had other plans. I woke up around 5am on Sunday morning, the 12th and thought i had wet the bed. With the amount of times I got up to use the bathroom at night it just made sense to me. While I was changing the sheets, I peed on myself again. Silly me, it never crossed my mind that it could be my water leaking. I went downstairs to let Jake out and peed on myself again. Then it finally clicked!! I will just blame it on the early morning hour for it taking me so long to make sense of what was happening. I woke up Jeremy and told him what was going on. We called the doctor on call and began to get the car loaded for the hospital. We woke up Chandler and told her the exciting news. Baby Cameron was coming today!!  I never had a big water break. It was just a continuous leak for 5 hours!! No fun at all!!

At the hospital they checked me in and then checked out my situation. They confirmed it was my water and said i was in the beginning stages of labor. We were so excited. We called a friend to come get Chandler, so Jeremy could be with me. No kids allowed in any rooms, until after delivery. The on-call doctor showed up around 8:30am and said my c-section would happen at 10am.  I had never met this doctor before but she was so calm, sweet and put me at ease right away. They began to prep me for surgery.  And at 10am I was wheeled into the OR.  I was much more nervous this time around. But all the nurses and the anesthesiologist were wonderful! They helped me relax.  The doctor got to work and our miracle girl, Cameron Joy was born at 10:35am!! She was a big girl: 9lbs 7oz.  And that was 8 days early!!

While i was in recovery, Jeremy headed to the hospital to pick up his mom who was arriving at the airport. I got to snuggle with my girl. Around 12:30 I was wheeled up to my recovery room. Our friend brought Chandler back to the hospital and she got to meet her sister. It was such a precious, special moment.

We are so excited that Cameron is here and she is healthy. It still has not hit me that I have 2 daughters!  But i am so thankful for this miracle, surprise of Cameron.

The Week Before Baby

Even though this pregnancy was much harder than my first one and knowing it would be my last, I really tried to enjoy my last week of pregnancy. There wasn't much cooking going on in our house the last week.

I treated myself to a makeover at Clinique.

I was still craving chocolate like crazy. And as a bonus, I got them all for $1 total!

We got one more peek at our baby girl.

Jeremy treated me to a full, professional house cleaning on a rainy day.

And I got to enjoy a movie (the last one I will see for a long time I am sure) that i had been wanting to see.

Only 3 days left until sweet girl arrives!!

My Growing Belly

I haven't done as well as I wanted to with taking weekly pictures of my growing belly. But I have taken some here and there. This one is in mid-August.
31 Weeks

31 weeks. I was still feeling pretty good here. Sleeping well and had energy.

A few weeks later at 33 weeks.  We got a new car for our new family.

Almost 9 months at 34.5 weeks.

Last week at 36 weeks. Feeling tired, grumpy and not sleeping well. Generally uncomfortable all over.

This past week at 37 weeks.

Sideways view. We are so ready for baby girl to get here.

My c-section has been set for Monday Oct 13th!! So I am into single digits. Our girl will be here in 9 or less days!! AHH, totally crazy to think about!  But we are ready!

My Baby Shower

Back at the beginning of August my sweet friends Amber and Beth threw me a baby shower. They really went all out and I am so appreciative of all their hard work and efforts.

Beth, myself and Amber.  I searched for days for something pink to wear but had no luck.  I settled for a cute aqua striped maxi skirt. It turns out a lot of the guest were in aqua as well which i found amusing.

My sweet Momma was able to come and be a part of my special day. And yep, there she is in her blue too!

The shower was a brunch, which is my favorite meal, and was so much fun. Amber made these delicious watermelon slushy drinks. They were to die for even without alcohol in them. I can only imagine how good they would fast with a splash of something stronger!

My delicious cake.

Sweet little party favors that Beth made. They were either peppermint or lavender hand scrubs. They smell so good.

Me and all the guests! I was so honored and so thankful that Amber and Beth threw me this shower. We are so lucky to have been blessed with some baby items we really needed. I am so thankful for all these ladies and their friendships.

Sweet Baby Girl's Room

So baby girls room is finally finished! With C her room was probably finished when I was  6 months pregnant. Poor 2nd child already!
This is the view from the doorway.
Yes it is PINK!
Bubblegum pink.
I had originally wanted to paint the walls aqua and do pops of pink in it. But Jeremy would not agree. So we went with pink with pops of aqua. I love the way it turned out!

A cute corner bookshelf my friend Amber gave me. I had fun finding all sorts of treasures for it.

Changing table area with my pops of aqua.

In the space above her crib we will hang her name. I spent some time painting the letters and think they turned out super cute! Getting them hung up is on the list for tomorrow.

Its kind of hard to see but the picture above her dresser is an original by C. She spent one afternoon and painted a picture of Jake for her sister. I love it!

I love the cute aqua vintage mirror.  The closet is already overflowing with clothes. With C I bought her way too many clothes, so I have tried to contain myself. But it is hard. Girl clothes sure are cute.

And back out into the hallway.

All we are missing as my friend Jennifer said is, "A baby to go with it."
