Build A Bear Birthday

We celebrated C's birthday a few weeks early this year. She was going to be at her Aunt and Uncle's house for vacation on her actual birthday. So she said she wanted to have her party before she left.  We went with A Build A Bear birthday party this year. It was really fun and really affordable!

Her party wasn't until the afternoon so she was very excited by the time it finally rolled around.

Out of all the stuffed animals they could pick out the 7 girls picked all the same 2 animals. I thought that was funny. Waiting not so patiently to stuff their "bears".

After stuffing their friends we headed a few doors down to Dairy Queen for some ice cream.  Jeremy forgot their were kid size cones and so everyone had a HUGE ice cream cone.

But their were no complaints from the girls.

After ice cream we headed right outside to the splash area. It was a hot and humid afternoon and we had the whole area to ourselves. The girls had a blast. Jeremy and I tried not to melt.

On the drive home C requested McDonald's for her birthday dinner.

Then we came home to open presents.

And eat cake!

After a little swimming it was finally time for bed. Proudly showing off her new stuffed friend Cookie Crumbs in their matching pajamas.

And Cherry who C made last year on her birthday had to get in the picture too.

Daddy and I love everything about you. We hope you know how very special you are.  We know you are going to grow up to do wonderful things.  You are so caring and loyal. You light up the room when  you enter it. You are the perfect daughter. We count our lucky stars we get to celebrate another year of you! We love you to the moon and back. Happy 6th birthday!!

The 4th with Friends

Every 4th of July I would always hear about people having fun 4th of July parties and be jealous.  But now that we have a pool I could host one. We wanted to have 1 last year but only knew 1 family.  But this year we were able to host one.  We had 5 families come over. 19 people in our pool!

The girls had a wonderful time swimming and jumping off the waterfall.  

They all played so well together.

Jeremy smoked a pork butt and everyone else brought sides, desserts and drinks.  Some families stayed for up to 4 hours. It was a fun, fun time.  

We had the party early in the day before it got too hot. So after cleanup and resting for a bit we got changed and headed to the park to meet back up to watch fireworks.

It was a total bust for firework watching. The adults saw 1 or 2 but the kids missed them.  Nevertheless they had a ball running around.

Watching them around in the dark, kicking balls, chasing each other, swinging and playing with flashlights reminded me of my own summer childhood.

We are so blessed with all the wonderful friends all of us have made here in AZ.  The day was a perfect one, made even sweeter by the friends who spent it with us.
