A Snowy December

We have had a very snowy December. In fact, it has been the 5th snowiest month on record for our town. I am not sure how far back the records go but years and years.

On the first big snow at the beginning of the month, we went to Maryn's house to play in her backyard. C was so excited to play in the snow with her best little friend.

Mr. Jason was kind enough to pull the girls all over the backyard. C and Maryn squealed with delight each time. He would run so fast and it was so hard for both girls to stay on the sled.

We went sledding on the big hills in our town.

We even had a blizzard 2 weeks ago. There were really big snow drifts in our backyard. In some parts there was barely any snow and you could see the grass. In other parts it looked like this.

We got a big snow on Christmas Eve. We even let Jake out in the front yard to run around and play with us.

Jake LOVED the snow. He was doing the army crawl through it.

Cute, snowy face.

Of course he had to wiggle in it.

You can see how hard the snow was coming down.

Contemplating their next move.

When C finally came inside and I took her snow clothes off, this is what i found!

Pops and Sparky were having a snow ball fight. I think Pops was winning.

After this snowy month, I have my game face on and am ready to embrace winter!!

Meet Our Poutasarus

Meet a newly discovered dinosaur--a Poutasarus!! These dinosaurs are known to pout and cry when they don't get their way. We recently learned that this dino can be spotted all over our town.

Christmas 2010

We had a great family Christmas this year. Jeremy's parents, his sister, her husband and their new baby all came to our house for the week. Sparky got the kids matching pj's. Try as I might I could not get a picture where they both had their eyes open and were looking at the camera.

On Christmas Eve, Daddy and C went out in the front yard to sprinkle the reindeer food on our snowy lawn. We were told it would help the reindeer and Santa find our home. Yes it was snowing and yes my child is not wearing socks or a jacket.

We were lacking homemade cookies in the house. So Santa had to settle for some shortbread ones. Luckily we had a few carrots for Rudolph and his friends.

C and her Pops watching Frosty before bedtime.

Santa brought so many goodies, the stockings had to be laid by the chimney with care.

Santa brought a bed for C's babies. Now maybe she will stop having them nap in the dirty clothes hamper!

Another goodie Santa left.

She was so excited and kept twirling around and saying"I am a pretty princess."

Due to the white Christmas we got and the frigid temperatures, we spent lots of time indoors. C got to play one of her favorite games she learned in Kindermusik. You can see her head poking out of the top of the blanket as she is flipped by Daddy and Pops.

Then it was Kenenisa's turn. He was not as excited as C was by this game.

And of course they needed a turn together.

C taught Pops how to play Candyland. And he surprised her by winning.

I thought it would be a sweet idea to get a picture of Sparky and Pops with their kids and grankids. It turned out to be harder than I thought.

C and her Aunt Mo Mo.

C ended Christmas day snuggling with her Daddy and reading some new books.

Aunt Mo Mo, Uncle Ian and Kenenisa left yesterday afternoon. Sparky and Pops left this evening. The house is seems big and quiet with everyone gone. We had a great Christmas and loved hosting everyone.

A Full House

Sparky, Pops, Aunt Mo Mo, Uncle Ian and baby Kenenisa arrived yesterday to spend Christmas with us. We are lucky enough to have a house big enough for everyone to visit and spread out to relax. C has been loving every minute of having a full house.

C & K enjoying a mid morning snack.

I dug some of C's baby toys out of storage and K has had a ball exploring them.

C and Sparky spent some time making garland for the tree. It had sticky stuff on one end and C's job was to lick it and then stick it.

Aunt Mo Mo, C and K playing a memory game. Got to love C cheesing for the camera.

C loves taking a bath with K. This evening she was singing a song to her mermaid, while rocking her in her arms.

Snug as 2 bugs in a rug.

C has been booted from her room, as K is sleeping in there. Daddy put the crib rail back on it. C has been camping out on our bedroom floor. She loves it.

We have had a great visit so far. Sparky and Pops arrived early on Tuesday morning. So after settling in and eating lunch, Sparky and I took C to see Tangled at the movies. C did great and it was a very cute movie. This morning Sparky, Aunt Morgan and Uncle Ian took C & K to the children's museum. I did not go but can imagine how C showed K how to play with everything there. I was able to have some time to myself and run a few last minute errands. We have played some games and eaten lots of food. We are suppose to have a white Christmas with between 3-5 inches of snow. So we shall see. We would love to play in the snow with these babes!
