Johnson & Johnson

We had a fun Memorial Day Weekend. The Johnson's, our good friends from TN, made the 8 hour trek to come visit us this weekend. They arrived on Friday at noon and left Sunday evening.

We fit so many fun activities into the weekend.
Fun at the splash park...

Sun-bathing....

Sprinkler fun....

Chandler LOVED Tegan and was very sweet to her. She would get right down at her level and just talk to her.

We went to the zoo....

looked for wallaby's...

tried to console Tegan when she was fussing...

Rode the carousel....

Cookouts and eating in the backyard...

eating popsicles...

Yummy.

So cute to see the girls being sweet and holding hands wherever we went.

We did dome other fun things that I will write about separately. We had so much fun and are so thankful for such good friends that would travel so far to come see us. Being with them was so familiar and felt like a piece of home to me!

Too Hot To Nap

One day last week the air conditioner was acting crazy and it was so hot in the house. It was 79* downstairs. So you can imagine how hot it was upstairs. C's room does not even have a fan. She had been in her room, trying to nap for over 30 minutes. I kept hearing all this noise so I went up to investigate. She had taken this toy apart and lined them up in a pretty row.

I went over to her bed and she was drenched in sweat. So we stripped down to the diaper and brought her downstairs to try to nap on the couch under the fan.
No nap still. I think she was just too hot. So we did the next best thing to help cool off! Eat popsicles!

She never took a nap that day, but thankfully we got the air conditioner working again when Daddy came home from work. Yay Daddy!

Blast from the Past

When we traveled to Florida a few weeks ago I was lucky enough to visit some old, dear friends that I had been missing so much! I also got me some chick fil a! Yummy!

One of my best friends/roommates from college lives in Clearwater Florida. We had not seen each other in 9 years. So we each made almost a 2 hour drive to meet halfway for lunch. It was a little awkward at first, but soon it was as comfortable as when we were in college. After many years of Shannon trying to get pregnant and being told it might not be an option, she is pregnant! So happy for her!

Big Girl Now

I decided since C is almost 3 that is was time for her big girl bed. So a few weeks ago Daddy took apart her crib.

She was so excited to no longer be in a crib. She kept saying "I have a big girl bed like Cousin Hannah".

There is no rail either. There a front piece to the bed but it only sticks up about 1.5 inches past her mattress. But it has been just perfect for her. It is enough to keep her from rolling out and not too much to not let her climb in on her own.

She is so proud of herself and her new bed. Probably around Christmas we will convert it the rest of the way to a full size bed. She is pretty good about staying in her bed when it is time to go to sleep. One of my new favorite things is when she gets up in the morning she peeks her head in our bedroom. Then runs and jumps in the bed between us and snuggles for another 15 minutes or so. Love waking up with my 2 favorite people in bed with me!

Baby Pool

Earlier this week I purchased C a water table from toys r us. I expalined to C that she was to play with it. I guess she thought I said play in it!
I was inside and I heard her call for me and I looked out and saw this. She was so proud of herself. We ended up taking the table back to the store, b/c she kept trying to climb back in it and it was attracting mosquitoes. Two things i don't want to deal with on a daily basis!

Just The 3 Of Us

Just some photos of our family while we were in Florida. The first one is cute. But I wish C and I had our sunglasses off.

Having some docktails and chatting before taking a ride on the boat.

I was squinting so bad becasue the sun was right in my eyes.

This one is cute, but J is making a weird smile.
It really is hard to get 3 people to all look good in a family photo, but we tired. I can't even tell you how may I erased for closed eyes, hair in the face and no smiles.

Highlights from Florida

Warning: Picture Overload Ahead!

Last week the 3 of us traveled to see Sparky and Pops in Florida. We were there for 4 days and had so much fun. The first morning we were there we headed to the zoo. C knew she was in Florida and wanted to take the jeep. I think she remembered riding in it the last time she was down there.

Daddy and C outside the zoo.

We went to the Jacksonville zoo and it was wonderful. It was really big and had lots of neat exhibits. The weather wasn't too hot so lots of the animals were out. C even got to feed a giraffe.

After feeding him one time with Sparky she was ready to do it on her own. Check out the giraffe's tongue next to the leaves. It was really long.

Before leaving we made a pit stop at the splash area. We had forgotten C's swimsuit in the car, so she just wore her dress. She loved sitting and climbing on all the different animals. It was a perfect way to cool off.

Waiting for the train whistle to blow.

After the safari splash area, we hopped on the zoo train to take a look at the animals up close. Daddy and C looked really hard but didn't see too many. Maybe it was nap time?

The next evening we went over to Aunt TaTa's and Uncle Guy's house for docktails and a boat ride. We didn't have a life vest for C so she had to wear Lily the dogs life vest.

We had forgotten C's sunglasses and it was very bright. She requested that Sparky be her sunglasses.

Lately we have been battling for C to take a nap. But she put up no fights in FL.

The condo at Sparky and Pops' has a pool and I think C went swimming everyday in it. I on the other hand am not quite ready for swimsuit season, so I just dangled my legs in.

We also went to a cookout with some old friends one night. Ellie is just a few months younger than C and they had so much fun together. They played very nicely and there was no fighting.

C was not too interested in the grilled chicken or side dishes but she had no problem eating her ice cream sandwich!

The day we left we went to a park to try to tire C out for the plane ride home.

Then of course we had to make a stop at the local favorite ice cream stop.

Can you believe C is eating the child size? Good thing Sparky was there to lend a hand. Or should I say mouth!

We had so much fun visiting and were sad to see it come to an end. But hopefully Sparky and Pops will make a visit up north sometime soon.
Thank you for all that you did to make our visit such a wonderful vacation Sparky and Pops!
