Our Decade

Wow, can you believe tomorrow will be 2010.? Where has the last year gone? Or better yet, where has the last decade gone? I thought I would do something fun and give a quick summary of our decade.

2001: Jeremy and I meet on Match.com. He meets my dad and I meet his parents.

2002: Jeremy buys his first house in Antioch, TN. Halfway through the yr I move in with him. Jeremy meets my mom.

We get engaged!

2003: We get married. Take a wonderful honeymoon on a cruise. We get our dog, Jake. Jeremy gets a promotion and we move to Pataskala, Ohio (just outside Columbus).

2004: Jeremy gets another promotion and we move to Franklin, TN. We start trying to expand our family.

2005: I run a half marathon.

2006: We begin fertility treatments. We find out we are pregnant! Jeremy's Nana passes away. Jeremy gets another promotion and we move to McKinney, TX (outside of Dallas).

2007: Chandler Paige is born! We celebrate 5 years of marriage!

2008: Chandler turns 1! Jeremy gets accepted into the State Farm agency program. We move back to Franklin, TN.

2009: Chandler turns 2! Jeremy decides not to become a State Farm agent. I turn 35. Jeremy gets yet another job offer and we move to Bloomington, IL (2 hours outside of Chicago). Chandler experiences her first real snow.

What will this next year and decade bring? Another child..we hope. Another move..most likely. More tears and more happiness. We look forward to it and will enter it together as the Johnson family.

Big Shout Out

Chandler had a terrific Christmas. We are truly blessed by all the family and friends we have that love our little girl. Chandler received many gifts that she adores. She rec'd the hat below from our very own Uncle Pat. I never realized that lady was so fashionable!!

A huge thank you to Aunt Morgan and Uncle Ian!! They made Chandler her very own felt board. They cut out and decorated over 50 felt pieces. Everything from sharks to birds to divers to gators to pirate ships.

We hung it in the basement in Chandler's playroom. I plan to paint the trim of the cork board and also the walls. In the meantime Chandler has loved playing with it and making up stories for all the characters.

Thank you for all your hard work MoMo and E! It is appreciated!

A Pink Dollhouse

Chandler had a great Christmas. She was so excited to see all her presents. She knew just what to do when it came time to open them. Sporting some new shades Santa left her.

Jeremy and I didn't get anything for each other or her this yr. We figured that Santa (aka Pops and Sparky) would just get her one big thing. She asked for a dollhouse from Santa. We decided to get her a nice wooden one that she could have for a long time. Well when she was talking to Santa on Christmas eve she told him she wanted a pink dollhouse. We hadn't put the dollhouse together yet. But what a surprise we got after Pops and Jeremy assembled it. It had a pink roof!!

Chandler loved it!! She played with it for 3 hours in the morning and then 2 hours after dinner.

I had to include this photo, because I love the expression on her face when she opens gifts!

We had a very Merry Christmas!

A Call From Ole' Saint Nick

Tonight Chandler got a call from Santa Claus (aka Uncle Ian). I love the look of awe on her face as she patiently waits to talk to him.

Trying to to be patient as Sparky tried to figure out how to put Santa on speaker phone.

She is very excited to be talking to him.

She listened intently as he explained that she was a good girl this yr and he would be stopping by her house to lave her a present. He then asked her to leave him some milk and cookies because he would be very hungry. She said "yes sir".

When we hung up the phone she went on and on about talking to Santa Claus. Thank you for helping us make our Cha Cha so happy Uncle Ian!

Are they here yet?

Today is the day that Sparky and Pops arrived for Christmas. They did not arrive until noon. All morning Chandler kept asking me if we were going to the airport. When we went to the grocery store and Jeremy's work she would say , "is this the airport?". We finally headed there and had to wait about 10 minutes for their flight.

Are they here yet?

Trying to be so patient!

They finally arrived and our Cha Cha was a very happy camper!

Hoarders

Have you ever seen that show, Hoarders? Oh my gosh, it is crazy. Well I watched part of it this afternoon. All I can say, if that show does not inspire you to clean out your closets and do some spring cleaning, I don't know what will. After watching it, I spent the next 2 hours cleaning out my closet, Chandler's closet and her playroom.

I got 5 garbage bags full of "stuff" gone from my house. Feels good.

Little Miss Betty Crocker

As gifts to Jeremy's boss and secretaries this yr, I baked 5 different types of cookies from scratch and put them in cute cookie tins. Took me all day, but I think it was worth it!

Chandler was very excited to help me make the cookies. But she was not a happy camper when she learned she had to wear an apron.

We all know the best part of baking is licking the spoon/mixer.

Trying to fit the whole mixer in her mouth. That's my girl!

First Snow of winter

Yesterday morning we woke up to snow. There was probably only 1 inch if that but it was still pretty exciting for Chandler and I. Then today after our naps we woke up to more snow.

Jake and Chandler checking it out.

This was yesterday morning. Chandler was so excited to get out there that she was only wearing boots over her pj's and a jacket.

Holding her first snowball. She loved throwing them at Jake.

This afternoon we were better parents and her properly bundled her up.

Walking in a winter wonderland.

Jake and Chandler

Chandler and Jake had so much fun playing in the snow. We had to lure both of them inside with the promise of a cookie! We are suppose to get snow again later this week. And we have been told to expect a white Christmas! We shall wait and see.
Oh and this evening I had a new experience. The pleasure of shoveling the walkway and driveway. It was either do that or cook dinner. And we all know what a wonderful cook Jeremy is. So I happily shoveled the snow.
