3 out of 4 Grandparents

Last week C and I traveled down to Fl for a visit with Sparky and Pops. I was just staying for 3 days. C was staying for 10 days. My mom who also lives in Fl was able to fly up and join us for the weekend. It was pretty cool that C had 3 out of 4 of her grandparents with her, especially since they all live so far apart.

Skyping with Aunt Morgan and Kenenisa after dinner.

C and her Maya (my mom)

With both her grandma's headed to the arts festival down by the river.

We didn't do too much. Went to that art festival, visited a few parks, went swimming, and played.

3 generations of women. C would not give us a genuine smile for the camera. I think Sparky took about 20 and this was the best I got.

Me and my momma.

I don't get to see my mom very often since she lives so far away and is self employed. So it was super nice that Sparky and Pops let her come visit for the weekend. Thanks S & P!

Catching Lightning Bugs

The other night C had been laying in bed for over an hour. Jeremy, Sparky and myself were watching tv. All of a sudden Jeremy jumped up and ran upstairs. He came downstairs with C and took her in the backyard. Sparky and I could not figure out what he was doing. We followed them outside. He was showing C all the lightning bugs. Apparently C and daddy have been talking about them for awhile now. Daddy used C's net to catch the bugs. Sparky was a good sport about getting them out of the net and into the jar. I didn't want any part of that.

Sparky was banging on the lid of the jar in an attempt to get them to light up.

A proud girl with her bugs.
Daddy punched some holes in the lid and even let C take the jar to bed with her. She fell asleep with the bugs on her bedside table. As I was watching Jeremy run around the yard chasing the bugs, C squealing in delight, I couldn't help but smile. (Even though it was close to 10 pm). Hopefully these are the moments that C will remember when she is older. How her Daddy got her out of bed late one night to go catch lightning bugs in the back yard.

She's Home!!!

After leaving for Florida over 10 days ago, our C has returned home to us!! She had the most wonderful time with her Pops and Sparky in Jacksonville. She had some big accomplishments too. I will blog about those later. She was so happy to see both her daddy and I this afternoon. She just hugged and squeezed on us for the longest time. She also found some time to give some kisses and pats to Jake.

Sparky is here with us for the next 2 days. Not sure what we are going to do. I am just happy to have my girl back!!

Home Alone

I have been home alone with out Jeremy or C for 2 days now. Jeremy is traveling this week and returns tomorrow late afternoon. C is still in Florida with Sparky and Pops. I have loved having some quality "me" time.

This was on the agenda tonight...

+ this....

+ this....= a little peace of heaven.

The house gets a little lonely at night. But good thing i had THIS waiting for me when I got out of the bath. He makes me feel much safer at night. Especially when he is sleeping in the bed with me. Shhh...don't tell Jeremy that!!

Then and Now

I went to the salon last week with intentions to just get a trim. No more than 2 inches. I am not sure what the stylist heard because I left with my hair much shorter. I hated it so much when i got home that i called the next morning and requested the manager fix it.

Me with my long, beautiful hair.

Me with my much shorter, "fixed" hair.

I meant to take a picture with my "bad hair" to post it. But it was not pretty and there is really no point in remembering it!!

Heavenly Is Right

I found these Heavenly Crisp chocolate bars at Jewel last week. They were on sale for .75 a piece. Then there was a coupon for buy 2 save .75, so i basically got 2 for the price of one. I ate it in the parking lot and then went back in and bought about 10 more using the coupons. What a bargain!! They are only 110 calories and are SO GOOD. I am going back tomorrow to stock up for my trip to FL. How I wish I had some in my fridge right now!

Getting Caught Up In Pictures

Here are some recent pictures I took but never blogged about.
A happy, chocolate ice cream eating girl.

My car died in the garage last Tuesday night. J of course was out of town, but his car was at the airport. C and I caught a ride to the airport to get his car so we would have a car for the week.

I had to have the car towed to the shop and it turned out to just need a new battery. The tow cost me $70! It was less than 5 miles. Thankfully we have emergency roadside assistance on auto insurance policy and so we were reimbursed 100%.

She wanted to take a picture with Jake one day before camp.

One afternoon when she should have been having quiet time, she snuck downstairs to where Jake was sleeping and snuggled with him. I heard these giggles and found her with him. Instead of getting mad, we had a mini photo shoot.

Jake looks less than amused about posing for the camera.

Pretending to be a doggy like Jake.

I picked this cute cupcake up from the grocery store on Friday to welcome Daddy home from his week long trip. Okay who are we kidding? The cupcake was for me and C!!

But it did make me think of him as we used sunflowers in our wedding!! It was yummy and looks super easy to make. I intend to make smaller versions for a play date this summer.

Daddy's Back!!

J had been out to of town all week on business. We picked him up on Friday afternoon from the airport, ate dinner and headed straight to the splash pad. C even talked daddy into playing in the water with her.

Can't believe she actually stood still long enough for me to take this picture.

Jumping in the freezing, cold water.
We are so happy that daddy is home and will be home with us all week!

1 Month To Go

We have exactly 1 month until this beautiful girl will be 4 years old!! I can not believe it. I was thinking today about where I was this time 4 years ago. I can remember thinking I had about 4 or 5 weeks left until my due date. I can remember wishing those weeks would just fly by and we would finally be able to meet her. Now all I wish for is that time would slow down. This is such a fun age. I don't want her to get any older. Let's just freeze time and let her be this age forever!

One evening last week C and I went to "birthday shop" at Toys R Us. I told her we were not going to buy anything but she could point out somethings she wanted for her birthday. She has been asking for a Lalaloopsy doll since January.

Giving snow white some sweet hugs.

An Aurora bath doll. Do we see a Disney theme here? I am not sure what she was looking at in all the pictures. But it sure wasn't me.
I am going to really try to savor this last month of my little 3 year old!

Summer Camp!!

C just finished up her very first week of summer camp. She went every day this week from9:30-11:30. The camp was at the local high school which is about 2 miles away. Had to get a picture of my big camper on her first day!

It was called Destination Discovery Camp. Each day there was a different theme. I think they did donuts, colors, birds, flowers and beach day.

2 of C's friends did the camp with her. So she knew a few kids there. We saw Lia on the first day and I told them to smile. This is what i got.

After camp the first day. Think her shirt is big enough?! The camp was for 3-5 yr olds and this is the only size they had? Go figure.

Mommy had to get creative with her shirt on the 2nd day.

With her other friend Tyson. We took him home from camp one day and they were so cute in the car. They were singing and telling me their favorite colors.

On bird day C came home with 2 Kookaburra's. I asked her why she had 2 and she told me that they needed a friend so they would have someone to play with.

The bird nest C made.

Open your eyes girl!

Each day the snack they had corresponded with the theme. The day they learned about flowers they had chocolate pudding with crushed Oreos and gummy worms. It was suppose to look like a pot of dirt. Of course C kept telling me how she didn't eat it b/c she doesn't like to eat dirt. No amount of explaining could make her understand it was a yummy treat!

One of the counselors drew this of C. So cute.

C had a wonderful day at camp every day. She came home happy and full of new songs and games. Of course I loved summer camp too! I went grocery shopping, to the library, to the mall, the post office, cleaned the house, laundry, visited a friend and relaxed. She still has a few more camps coming up in July. Both C and mommy can't wait!

State Farm Play Day

Every year in June, J's company host a fair for all their employees and their families. We went last year and have eagerly been anticipating the big day this year. Today was that day. We all headed over to State Farm about 9:30am. On the drive over there I realized how uncomfortable J was from his sun poisoning. I felt so bad for him and being a recipient of sun poisoning myself in the past, I knew how miserable he was going to be. I convinced him that he should go back home and C and I would go to the fair now and he could come join us later. I know he felt really bad about not going with us, but it ended up being a good call as it was blistering HOT!! We took a school bus to the State Farm park. C was so excited to be riding on the bus like a big kid.

As soon as we entered the park. C wanted to go on the little Ferris wheel. I thought I could ride with her but when we got to the front of the line I realized I was too big.

So my big girl rode by herself.

I tried to convince her to ride with another kid that was by himself. But she told me over and over she wanted to go by herself. She loved it!

Next we ran into our friend K.

K's family was in line for the BIG Ferris wheel. C told me she wanted to go on it too. I was scared to let her. Look how big that thing is!!

Luckily K's mom took one for the team and rode with the girls. I thought for sure C would cry or get scared. So i was very surprised when they got off and Ms. Cheryl told me that the only thing C complained about is that it did not go fast enough!

We had some good pizza and corn dogs for lunch and then headed on the bounce house area. This was a cool disco one. Inside was dark and had music blaring. Of course C loved it.

Daddy did come to the fair about noon to join us. He found us eating lunch but his sun poisoning was really bothering him so he went back home. It was extremely hot, about 96* degrees. We did more bounce houses and played a few games. Then I told C she could go on 1 more ride. She said she wanted to go home. Fine by me! We made a pit stop for some cotton candy, a water and called Daddy to meet us at State Farm. When we got home we let C enjoy a Popsicle outside. It was so hot, we stripped her right down.

When we got home we took showers and got in our pajamas for a nap. I fell right asleep but C just played quietly in her room for 1.5 hours. As we were leaving the fair I asked C what her favorite thing she did was. Her answer made my heart smile. "Everything Mommy. Everything."
