What You've Missed....

..Or what I haven't blogged about. It has been a long, cold, snowy winter. But we have gotten into a good routine. C has school 2 days a week in the mornings. We have MOPS one day and usually play dates the other 2 mornings. We will come home, eat lunch and then play for a bit. One afternoon I was on the computer and C began bringing me all her friends and shoving them into a desk drawer. She told me it was quiet time and they all needed to take a nap.

One day when school was canceled for the 3rd day in a row, I met up with one of my friends from MOPS at Chuckee Cheese. C loved riding the roller coaster with her friends.

Lately C really has taken an interest in coloring and doing crafts. She has gotten really good at drawing too. Must take after her Daddy.

After lunch one day she told me she was going to read while I cleaned up. She looked at 2 whole books like this. (Notice what book she is reading Karyn?)

We attended a Valentine tea party at Gina's house. Gina is a mini-Martha Stewart and went all out for the tea party.

Sparky and Pops sent C a box of chocolates for V-day. C loved everyone of them and even refused to share them. She made lots of happy plates that week.

I let C try out the fizzy bath tablets she got for V-day.

She was mesmerized as they dissolved.

Making silly faces.

One day as we were headed out the door to take C to preschool she told me that Jake was sad and wanted to go with us. So I was the good Mommy and loaded him up in the car. C was so happy that both Jake and I were taking her to school.

That night, C spent a good hour playing with Jake. She told me that he was being a superhero.

Poor Superhero. I think his cape is in the wrong place!

Winter Beach Party

This morning C and I went over to Gina's for a beach play date. Gina is a very creative host and turned her whole house into a beach party.

She made some "sand" cake. It was yellow cake, with crushed graham crackers and chocolate pudding mixed into it. C did not try it as it was a bit messy and she likes to be clean. But I can attest it was delicious.

Cute flip flop decor. She also had some sea gulls, a sun and beach balls.

Right after we got there C headed upstairs with Collin, who is Gina's son. C & C are exactly 1 year apart. You can tell that my C is older as she loves to boss Collin around. I was downstairs and heard them both hollering at me. I came upstairs and found them both sleeping in Collin's bed.

Back to the party... Gina set up a fishing pond in the bathtub. It was a huge hit! The kids loved fishing for fish and shells.

Gina went all out and even set up an indoor sand table. She was very brave. But the table was very popular. I know for a fact at 1 point all 6 kids were crammed into the bathroom, playing with the sand or fishing in the tub.

While all the other kids were having a snack, C snuck away to play with her favorite toy at Collin's house. A small but loud keyboard. It even has a microphone attached that you can sing into. And boy does she ever.

We had a wonderful time. It was snowed last night so it was nice to get out and play and pretend that summer is almost here!

Weekly Catch-up

I realized I have been slacking on the blog this week. So I thought I would share some photos of what we have been up to. C spent one afternoon watching a movie with Jake.

On Wednesday it was in the high 40's so C and I played at the park with Jake. She was pretending that she works at McDonald's and Jake was ordering cheeseburger at the drive through window!

Jake was sad he had to be tied up and could not run around with us.

Oh and when I tucked C into bed last night I found all her friends in timeout. Such a creative girl!

Oh Happy Day!!

The last week or so C has been getting up around 6:30am. She will come into our room and wake me up and ask me to come lay in her bed. So this morning I did that. She layed quietly next to me for about 2 minutes and then started rolling around. I told her that she could turn on her night light and play quietly in her room until I got up. Imagine my surprise when I was awoken at 7:30am by this cute, playful girl!

On another note, Jeremy couldn't find his wallet this morning. We looked for over 30 minutes and then realized we probably dropped it in the gym parking lot last night. I called over there and they said no one had turned one in. Jeremy headed to work to begin the process of cancelling all our cards. I decided to swing by the gym and talk to them again. The guy at the front desk made our day when he told me that someone DID turn in a wallet found in the parking lot last night!! Jeremy and I were so relieved and excited. Oh what a happy day!!

Behind The Camera

We all know that I love to take pictures of C. Lately though she has been wanting to take the pictures. So I let her have her own photo session.

A picture of her pretend dog and her real dog who is hiding from her.
Who's peeking out??

There's Mommy!

Silly Daddy!

She did great. The photos are even, straight and in focus. who knows, maybe we have a future photographer in the making!

A Little Color

This afternoon we tried out a snow day activity that I read about last year. We found some spray bottles, added some food coloring and water and ventured outside to paint the snow.

She loved making footprints in the snow and then coloring them.

Kind of annoyed that Mommy is asking her to stop and "look at me."

We only stayed out for about 20 minutes. It was freezing! We were properly bundled for the cold, but it didn't help that the temperature was only 8*!

We did blue, red, green and a funky brown color. C called it purple. C was having a ball and didn't want to come inside. I had to lure her in with the promise of hot chocolate.

It was a fun activity and we will probably do it again as I am sure this snow will be here FOREVER!! I think next time we will just make sure it is a bit warmer and in the double digits!!

Tea For Three

For weeks now I have been promising C that we would have a tea party. So yesterday I made good on that promise. After quiet time, I told C to invite 2 of her favorite friends and I got the goodies ready.
She invited Aurora (Sleeping Beauty) and her pirate bunny from "Bunny Town". We even used the fancy cups and plates. What's the point of having them if we never use them?

They enjoyed a cookie and some tea (chocolate milk).

The pirate bunny did not eat hers so C got 2 cookies.

Must have been a good party!

She told me and Daddy she had so much fun. He has promised her they can have another one when he gets back in town on Thursday.

Sleeping Beauty's

On Saturday I took C to Toys R Us to pick out a new toy. I figured with all the snow we had and 2 more months of winter she needed something new to play with. After browsing all the aisles, she spotted some plush dolls. They had all the different princesses. After some debating between Belle and Aurora a.k.a.Sleeping Beauty, she made her decision.

Aurora came home with us and they lived happily ever after.

Today I had to be the mean witch and take Aurora away. C has had 2 pee accidents today. I am not talking a little dribble. She flat out peed in her pants. Twice!! So as of right now, Aurora is sleeping peacefully in Mommy's sock drawer.

A Whole Lot Of Snow

Enough said!
