Our little Fishie

When our pool first opened at the end of May, Chandler was not a big fan of getting in the pool. Whenever we went she would stand in the shallow area not more than ankle deep. We tried getting her a swimming vest, but she hated it and just cried when we made her wear it. So one day Jeremy bought her some floaties and everything changed. Now she loves to get in the pool. She will jump in from the sides or the steps. She will float by herself and let us dunk her under water. She is like a different child from the beginning of the summer.

Here is some video of her and Daddy enjoying the pool.

At the end of the video she saays Hi to Sparky and Pops. Her next video will be for Maya and Grandad.

Visit with the ducks

One evening a few weeks back we took Chandler down to the pond to check out the ducks. She loves all animals and was so excited to see them up close.

She saw them and made a bee-line for them!

In a total trance!

Chandler was so excited about the ducks. She talked about them and made quacking sounds for the rest of the evening. I hoping we have a not so hot day soon, so that i can take her back to the zoo for more visits with her animal friends.

Our Weekend

This weekend has really flown by for us. On Friday afternoon Chandler and i went to visit a dear friend Paula. Paula and Lane use to live across the street from us when Jeremy and i were merely dating. Paula and Lane had bought a new house and are updating it and we went to check it out. Paula and i had a good time catching up while Chandler and her son Sam played. Saturday morning, Grandad came over to see us. He had been sick for a week or so and we missed seeing him on Father's Day. We had a good visit. Chandler read to him, he read to her and they colored a bit. Saturday afternoon Paula and Sam came over to go swimming in our awesome pool. Then we came back to the house and Jeremy grilled for us.
Chandler is a good sleeper. Usually sleeps 12 hrs a night and doesn't wake up much. Well Saturday night around 1:30am i heard her coughing and then crying. I thought she had maybe lost her pacifier or was having a bad dream, so i let her be. Well the crying continued, so i went to check on her. It was dark in the room and when i went to pick her up she was wet or so i thought. Then i smelled something bad. I turned on the light and saw that she had thrown up all over her bed, pillow and crib. It was in her hair and all over her. I took her and woke up Jeremy and had him try to give her a quick bath as i threw everything into the washer. Jeremy got her clean, but she was just crying and crying. We put Spongebob on and tried to get her to calm down. Unfortunately she threw up 2 more times and both times on Jeremy! The weird thing was she did not have a fever. We think it was something she ate. We stayed up with her until 4:00am letting her watch Spongebob and trying to get her to drink water. Then i finally put her down and she went right back to sleep. This morning she seemed back to her normal self, except she did not have much of an appetite. But she is drinking some so we i think we are on the way back to normal.
After everyone took an afternoon nap we loaded up in the golf cart and went swimming. Chandler is getting very brave in the pool. We are so proud of her. I took a video of her in the water that i will post soon. For dinner we had yummy pizza and then i took Jake for a walk. After Chandler went to sleep Jeremy and i rented a movie on TV. It was nice to have some time to relax after our busy weekend.
I have some photos form our weekend that i will post soon. So check back!

23 Months old

This post is a bit late. But i wanted to document Chandler's last month before turning the big....T-W-O!! I still can not believe that my baby is 2 yrs old!

Chandler, you are a very smart baby. You have such a eager knowledge for information and love to explore the world around you. You still love your puzzles and your books. You love to take the books off the shelves one by one and then sit down and "read" them to yourself. You have a great memory and love to sing nursery rhymes. Sometimes when we are in the car you will command me to sing one and then you sill join in. You can sing Baa Baa Black sheep, Itsy Bitsy spider, Heads/Shoulders/Knees and Toes and How much is that doggy in the window. You can sing your ABC's and you can count to 20 by yourself.

Your favorite person besides Mommy, Daddy and Jake--is your friend Hailey. You ask us everyday if you can go to the pool with Hailey. When ever we get in the car you always ask "Hailey's house?" You even have a book the you call "Hailey Book". And whenever you go down for a nap or to sleep you ask for it. I think Hailey might slowly be edging out Mickey as your favorite person to see!

You are a very sweet, friendly baby. You are a good sharer of your toys. You love to smile and wave at people. Your favorite shows to watch are Mickey Mouse, Veggie Tales, Spongebob and Curious George. You ask to watch these shows on a daily basis. You LOVE music! And all kinds. You love to dance and clap with the beat. You are such an easy baby. And so happy too.
Being your Mommy has been the greatest gift i could ever ask for. I love you more than you will ever know.
And since you will be 2 so soon i guess i should no longer call you a baby. You definitely are a big girl!

Random Photos

Below are just some random photos of Chandler from the last week or so.

One afternoon Jeremy took Chandler to the pool and forgot to take her swim coverup with him, so he had to improvise. Think the new fashion will catch on?

Showing off her new Spongebob pj's with her cool socks. She kept telling me her feet were cold.

Showing the camera her pinky toes.

Trying out a trampoline. Doesn't she look so cute in her romper? I wish they made those for adults!

All about Daddy

To my Daddy:

I love when you play with me.
I love when you make silly animal noises with me.
I love when you read to me.
I love when you hang me upside down.
I love when you are silly with me.
I love when you give me hugs and kisses.
I love when we ride the bumps in the golf cart.
I love when you take me to look at the cows.

I am so happy that you are my daddy. You are the bestest daddy in the world.

I love you too Daddy!

Maya's Visit

My mom or better known to Chandler as Maya came this weekend for a visit. Maya lives in Miami and is self-employed so it is hard for her to take time off and close the business to come visit us. She was only here for 3 days but we made the most of it. We took advantage of the resort pool.

Don't mind the crazy drowned rat looks, we had just returned from the pool.

Of course we did a lot of shopping. Because Maya won't be here for Chandler's birthday we had to get her some gifts now. Here she is proudly carrying her purses around the store.

Maya and Chandler spent lots of time reading. Maya was impressed with how much Chandler loves to read and how she absorbs everything you say and do.

Chandler and her best pals, Mickey and Goofy. Goofy was a random gift to Chandler from Maya. Chandler looks so content with her pals.

We had a great time with Maya and were very sad to see her go. We sure to hope her next visit is soon and longer!

Dancing Queen

As we have said before, Chandler loves to dance. Here are a few cute videos from the 80's concert last night.

I like to call this one Chandler's warm up. She is begining to feel the music but is not dancing yet.

Ok now Chandler is getting down on it. As the song does say.

More getting down...

80's Concert

Tonight was one a concert night in WH (westhaven). It was the 80's team. We were told that it is the most popular concert each yr. And to get there early to get a seat. You can see from the photo that it was pretty crowded.

Chandler loved the music. She boogied the whole night. Though she did take a break to pick me a flower.

My mom was in town this weekend and was able to come and enjoy the evening with us.

We had a great time at the concert. It was hot and humid. But still a fun time. We are looking forward to the next one.

Mommy's little helper

Chandler is getting to the stage where she will repeat everything Jeremy and I say. She also tries to copy everything we do. So i recently figured i would put that to good use.
It's time to do some laundry.

Taking the whites to the washer.

Putting the clothes in the washer.

After getting the laundry started it was time to water the flower boxes.

I'm a big helper Mommy!

After some chores, it was time to walk the dog. Chandler was a big helper and tried to pick up all the sticks, leaves and stray flowers along the route.

It odes take twice as long to do things when Chandler is helping me, but i still enjoy every moment of it.

Family Fun Fest

On Friday night Jeremy, Chandler and I headed to Springhill for a Family Fun Fest at a church in that town. There were bounce houses, dunking tanks, pony rides, music, food and much more. Even though we went with Aunt Mel, Uncle Brett and Cousin Hannah; we ran into our good friends Karyn, Andy and Hailey. In case you forgot Hailey is Chandler's BFF and Chandler was in heaven that Hailey was there!

Could you please take photos later, we are trying to eat!

Ahh, bliss...a juice box a balloon.

After bouncing on the inflatables, a quick dinner and some dancing the 3 of us went to Cousin Hannah's for a bit. I was surprised at how nicely the girls played together. They were sharing everything and just having a ball being together.

After some playing it was time to have a snack. Nothing like eating mac-n-cheese at a table for 2!

Visit to Province Town

On our last day of vacation, Jeremy, his mom/dad and Chandler and I drove to a little town called Province. It reminded me of a small island you would visit on a cruise ship stop. There were lots of neat shops and restaurants.

Not easy to get a 2 yr old to smile for the camera.

Chandler and Pops checking out the ocean from one of the many beaches.

Wanting more of daddy's ice cream.
Trying to get a family photo on the whale.

Second try with Pops and Sparky.
As we were walking back to our car we decided to make a quick trip down the pier. A fisherman called out to us to come check out his water critters.

I was surprised that Chandler had no fear and just grabbed the starfish.

Putting Mr. Starfish back in his bucket.

After we checked out the water critters, we loaded back up in the car to drive back home. We had heard that there was a great place to go watch the seals in the marina. So we made a quick pit stop there.

Pops and Chandler searching for the seals.
After seeing some seals we poked our heads into the tiny fish market. What we saw in there was not so tiny!

Chandler was in total awe of the lobsters. As soon as she saw them she said "Wow!". I never heard her use that word before. She had no fear. When the woman held out the lobster, Chandler eagerly reached out to pat it's head and arm.

All in all we had a wonderful vacation. It was so nice to see family we don't see very often. We played lots of fun games, ate lots of good food and had lots of good company.

Fun at the beach house

We had 2 houses rented. We stayed the house with Jeremy's mom/dad and sister/brother in law. We were usually at our house in the mornings and then headed to the big house in the evenings for dinner and games.

Playing with her sand buckets on the front porch.

Having down time with Daddy. They both look mad but are actually watching Spongebob.

Bubbles with Aunt Mo Mo.

Just being silly.

Pictures at Lighthouse Beach

On Sunday evening all 28 of us gathered at lighthouse beach for a professional photo session on the beach. I have some of those photos that i will post later.

Chandler is not a fan of walking on the sand and is really wanting to be picked up.

Sharing a quiet moment with Sparky between photo sessions.

Hitching a ride back from looking at the ocean with Daddy and Pops.

Our family.

Being silly with Mommy.

I am eagerly awaiting the professional photos to be ready so we can look at them. We need an updated professional photo of our family.
