Just Photos

One day last week I took Jake on a walk.  Usually C will walk with me or sometimes she wants to go in the jogging stroller. But the weather was pretty nice so I convinced her to ride her bike.

She was going so slow and complaining that her legs were hurting. It took me a minute to realize we were going up a slight hill. Poor thing. Once we got on flat land she really took off and Jake & I had to jog to keep up with her.

My friend Gina picked C up after preschool one day and took her back to her house to play with Colin. Gina had gotten the kids huge cake pops as a treat.  C only ate a little at Gina's house and I let her have the rest after dinner.

She was showing me just how big her mouth is!

Being lazy with her favorite friend.  She is so cute.  Jake kept wanting to follow me around the house and C was calling for him. Eventually he laid down next to her and she patted her stomach and he put his head right there. She loved it.

This is one of her favorite ways to sit. Poor Jake. But to be honest he really doesn't seem to mind. I sure hope that Jake gets all the bones he can eat when he goes to doggie heaven.  Lord knows he has earned it with what he puts up with from C!

A Real Tea Party

C is very obsessed with tea parties right now. I think her and her "friends" have them every day.  She takes them very serious.  So while she was in quiet time today I got a real tea party all set up.

We even used the fancy cups that Maya gave us.

No tea party is complete without finger foods.

When she came downstairs she was so happy and excited to see the table all set up.

She was so happy that I let her have chocolate milk as her "tea".  She was quite the little lady and just sipped on it very politely.  Mommy on the other hand quickly drank hers up.  Then C did the sweetest thing. She poured half of her drink in my empty cup and said " Now you have some more Mom. Try not to drink it so fast this time!! "  What a generous girl I have!

I tried to talk to her in a funny, fancy voice. She told me I sounded silly.  She told me all about her day at school and we told each other silly jokes and had a great time.  I am trying to consciously enjoy all these little moments with her, as I know she is growing up fast.

Oh and Sparky you better be ready for some tea parties this week.  She told me she wants to have lots more!!

A Morning With Me

Yesterday I had a child-free morning. C went to preschool as usual and then a friend picked her up, along with her own daughter. She took them to Wendy's for lunch and then to the children's museum. So I tried to make the most of my time.  After dropping C off at school I ran a few errands and then did some light housework.  Then I went and enjoyed a mid-morning pedicure. The place was virtually empty and it felt so good to get the feet/legs rubbed and pampered and enjoy the silence.

I came home and had a quick snack and then hit the gym. A picture of my ponytail will have to do. No one looks pretty when they head to the gym. Or at least I don't. I use to run a lot after college and pre-C.  But then for the most part I stopped. Lately I have been trying to get back into it.  I ran 1.5 miles and then did some light weights. It felt so good to not have to rush through my work out.

After the workout I rewarded myself with a Iced Chai tea.  Might have been counter-productive but it tasted SO good!

My friend returned C a little after 1:30. She had been home less than 5 minutes when we got a text from a neighbor asking if C wanted to come play.  So we had a quick snack and C got to play at a neighbor's house for another hour.  She was so exhausted last night that she went to bed at 7pm and slept for 13 hours!!  This Momma needs more days like that!

Cuddle Bugs

One morning while I was getting ready, these 2 followed me into my bedroom and proceeded to cuddle with each other.

They both were so content. And C watched a little morning TV like that for a bit.

I have said it before and will say it again: I love how they love each other!

Chandler's Valentine Day

C was all excited about Valentine's Day this year. Even though we don't really buy into the whole commercial side of it, I still tried to make the day special for her.  She started off the day with giving a heart balloon to her daddy.  Then we headed off to the library.

I let her play some games on the kids computers. The games are pretty archaic so i usually make up some excuse as to why she can't play on the computer.  But this day she played on them for almost an hour!

"Reading" a book in the underground book nook.

We had to stop at Kroger on the way home and C wandered over to the Valentine aisle. She saw this baby sock monkey and asked if she could have it. Usually I would say no as she already has 100 of them. But again I gave in as it was V-day. She hugged and kissed on it and promptly named it Elizabeth.

Later after quiet time we made Daddy some Valentine whoopee pies.

Daddy is not a big fan of sweets but even he agreed they were yummy!

After dinner I got a text from a Ben's mom (he is C's boyfriend) asking if we were going to be home for a while. Ben wanted to drop something by for C.  C had already made a sweet Valentine picture for Ben to give to him after school.

So excited waiting for Ben to arrive.

He brought her pink frosted heart cookies!! How sweet was that!!

My Loves

We don't really celebrate Valentine's day. I don't need a day to say I Love You.  But I thought I would put up some pictures of my very favorite Loves.

C's 1st birthday.

Me and J in Vegas.

Crazy hair pirate.

Looking at Christmas lights.

And of course I can't forget him.  So sweet.

Much love to all my loves!

Fun With My Marvelous Mama's

Last weekend my moms group had their annual winter social.  All the moms were invited for a night out of food, drinks, karaoke, dancing and fun.  Just us girls, no kids or hubbies.  We have some wonderful, creative moms in this group who really went the extra mile in organizing this event.  The cute party favors that everyone got.

Table centerpieces.

There was a raffle.  These are just a few of the 20 gift baskets that were raffled off.  I am excited to say that I won that "popcorn/snack/dvd" one!

Some of the yummy treats we ate.

Gina, Stephanie and me.  These girls are 2 of my closest friends here. Even our hubbies all hang out together. We have lots of fun together and I am so thankful I met them.

Me, Stephanie and Sarah.  I can not say enough wonderful things about the moms in this group and the friendships I have made. Everyone should be lucky to have wonderful girls like these for friends.

The night was full of fun games, dancing, and of course some karaoke. I am proud to say that I did 3 songs. "Bust a Move, Ice Ice Baby and I will Survive."  These are my 3 go -to karaoke songs. And of course I had some liquid courage to help me out.  I also warned everyone that i do not sound pretty when i sing. They did not seem to mind.  Here 's Gina getting her song on.

We also had some superlatives, similar to those in high school. The winners got sparkly crowns and trophies. After the event was over, a handful of us went out for more fun and dancing.  I stayed out until 1:30am. I can not recall the last time I did that!! Again I can not stress how thankful I am for all the friendships I have made through this group.  You all know who you are!! Can't wait until next years'!!!
