Major Meltdown
C is a VERY happy child. She rarely throws a tantrum. So when she asked for a lollipop before dinner one day and I told her no, she reminded me she is only 2.
She must be thinking "I have the meanest Mommy."
Just pitiful.
Believe it or not, the tantrum went on for 25 minutes. There was lots of crying, kicking and pleading. She finally decided to try to swat the camera away.
I must be a mean mommy to take all these pictures of her when she was so upset. But I want to remember all of C's moments. The good, the bad and the ugly.

Benvenidos A Mexico
Benvenidos a Mexico! Or Welcome to Mexico!
The top photo is a view of the private beach. The photo below is the view from our patio. It was so nice. We could just walk out our back door, across the grass and jump in the lazy river.
Each morning we would wake up and see couples floating by with drinks in hand. Our awesome room!

We totally relaxed on this vacation. Everyday we went swimming in the pools, the ocean, floated on the lazy river, drank cocktails. ate delicious foods, took naps, and listened to the band.
One afternoon the resort showed us how to make these cute pineapple monkey drinks. I hope J and I can remember how to make them for our next summer party. And the drink that went in it was delicious. Hopefully J remembers how to make that too!
We were not the only guest enjoying the beach. One afternoon this gal came along to say hello. I had some leftover nachos and decided to feed them to her. She loved the beans, cheese and chips. We were surprised how close she got to my foot.
Taking advantage of a pool hammock and cocktail. The resort also had swinging beds above the water. Of course you had to wake up super early to claim one of those. We never did get one.
The resort had about 7 different restaurants. Everything from Mexican to French to Italian. They had strict dress codes. But that just gave me an excuse to go shopping for cute dresses.

We enjoyed a Caribbean buffet one night. The sunsets were beautiful there. They made the prefect backdrop for our pictures.
On our last day we went into Cancun and did the zip line. It was great! I was pretty nervous as I am scared of heights. But once I did the first line I was fine. There were about 10 lines I got to zip on.
Most were over a swampy river or the jungle. At one point I even was super brave and did one line upside down. We weren't able to get a photo of that. But it is something I will never forget!

J and I both had a wonderful vacation. It was so special to take a trip just the 2 of us. We were able to spend lots of quality time together and make wonderful memories.
We are so thankful to J's parents who kept C for a whole week while we were on our vacation. Many thanks Pops and Sparky!!

Long Distance Fathers Day
J and I were in Mexico on fathers day and C was in Fl with Pops and Sparky. But he was still able to get a special message from his big girl.
Sparky also asked C some questions about her daddy...the following was their conversation:
Cha Chi, how old is Daddy?
My Daddy is 2 years old. He'll be 3 in January
What does your Daddy like to eat?
His favorite food is broccoli...and apples
What does he like to do?
He likes to watch golf on TV...and he likes to drink lots of water.
What does Daddy do when he goes to work?
He types on the computer.

First Bikini
Yesterday we went to a pool party/ice cream social with my mom's group. C got to wear her very first bikini. I had put it on her a few weeks back but Daddy was not a big fan of it. Neither was C for that matter. She kept trying to tell me that the shirt was too small for her. But she gave me no complaints yesterday. In fact once she got it on she told me she was a princess and then stood in front of the mirror and danced and twirled. I think she was a big fan of the skirt part.
Later she swung some with boyfriend Cooper.
Tried to catch butterflies with her net.
Finally it was time for ice cream! Chocolate, her favorite!!
Looking at the top 2 pictures she is giving a closed eye, cheesy smile. If anyone has any suggestions on how to get her to smile like a normal person I am all ears!!

One Month To Go
The countdown is on. It is officially 1 month until C is 3 YEARS OLD!! I can not believe that it has been 3 years since she entered into our lives. C is such a sweet child. She loves to be around people and always tries to make friends with other kids everywhere we go. She always asks me if we are going to make new friends today. She is very easygoing. She hardly ever puts up a fuss or throws a tantrum.
She loves to laugh and be silly. Her favorite things to do are play with her dollhouse, her fairy house and her farm house. She has a favorite doll name Dolly that she sleeps with and who accompanies her when she plays outside. C has a wonderful imagination. She will happily play for hours by herself. She loves her dog Jake. She calls him her brother. She loves when he sleeps next to her bed and she can reach her arm down and pet him. She loves to be outside. She loves her slide and her playhouse. She also likes to chase Jake, throw him his balls and feed him leaves and grass.
She is a wonderful sharer. Probably much better than any 2 yr old you will ever meet. She always talks about waiting her turn when we are in line. She is very polite. She says please, thank you, your welcome and yes sir. She is very helpful. She loves to help me put the laundry in the washer and dryer. She loves to help me mop. And when I vacuum she gets out her rolling popper and "vacuums" with me. She loves going to the kids korner at the gym. Most days she does not want to leave when I come to pick her up.
She is a great sleeper, usually 10 hours a night. She is beginning to not want to take a nap, but I am trying not let that happen! She loves to watch Dora, Diego, Sesame Street, Max & Ruby and still Mickey Mouse. She loves all music and when she hears it she will stop what she is doing and begin to dance. And she is a GREAT dancer too. She has much better rhythm than me! She knows her ABC's, can count to 20 in English and 12 in Spanish (thank you Dora!). She knows all her colors and knows red, blue, green, and yellow in Spanish (again Dora). She is a great eater and most nights will make a "happy plate". She has begun to call me Momma instead of Mommy. She acts and speaks years beyond her age. Sometimes I actually forget she is only 2.

Resort Pool
We live in State Farm country. SF employs over half this town. They are a great company to work for and really take care of their employees. There is SF park where we live. It has everything you could imagine..playgrounds, putt-putt, fishing, tennis courts, beach volleyball, pool. The park is only available to SF employees and their families. We couldn't wait for the pool to be open. And now it finally is. I thought the pool in our old neighborhood in TN was a resort. This one puts that one to shame.
She is in the middle of all that water.

They have these awesome slides in the main pool area. I was really proud of C that she rode them all by herself. She would walk to the top, get in line and patiently wait for her turn.

There is also a separate pool for lap swimmers, a slide for adults, 2 diving boards and a lazy river that has inner-tubes. We haven't taken advantage of the pool as much as I thought we would. But I think we are finally getting into the grove of summer and think we will be starting to go a lot. Bring on the sunblock!

State Farm Playday
Each summer State Farm puts on a carnival for all their employees and their families. The fair was this past Saturday and we had been looking forward to going all week. The event is huge. We parked at State Farm and then we took a bus to the fair. I'm not sure if Chandler was nervous or in awe to be riding on a school bus. She sat quietly next to me and didn't speak. Once we arrived at the park we could see all the rides and games. She had to stand on Daddy's lap to get a better look.
She rode a roller coaster for the first time. I think I was more nervous than she was. Luckily there were seat belts and an older girl (7 yrs old) was sweet enough to sit with Chandler. They are in the 3rd car from the front.
That is a happy scream!
Up next was the choo choo train. She was pretty excited to take a ride in Shiny Dinah--which is what the train from her Kindermusik class was called.
All aboard!
Here she caught a ride in the back of a race car.
Put your hands up!
Think she is having fun? She rode this coaster at least 3 times and begged for more but we had to get moving to see the farm animals who were going to be leaving soon.
We made a pit stop for a magic carpet ride...
And a stop at the fun house. We had to pull her away from this one kicking and screaming.
Finally we hit the petting zoo. She loved it! She ran after and caught a baby chicken. She loved the baby goats and went around kissing all of them on the head.
I thought this one in a bucket was too cute. I wanted to take him home. She said "Oh look Mommy, a baby goat. He is so cute." Then proceeded to pet him ever so gently.
Saying goodbye to all the animals.
One last stop to ride the ponies.
Sometimes it is hard living here. The winter was brutal and I still only have 1 friend. But it helps that State Farm has so many things for their employees and families. I look forward to more of their events.
