It's hard to believe that C is starting 2nd grade!! We attended her meet the teacher night a few days before school began. This year C got placed in the "enrichment" class. It is suppose to be harder and a lot more focused on reading. I have heard wonderful things about the teacher! We are excited to see all C will learn this year.
The day before school started I took us to get mani/pedi's. C didn't like when they filed or clipped or nails, but LOVED the massage part.

First day of 2nd grade! (8/6/14)
C was super excited that her friend Sienna was in her class again this year. This sweet girl is the very first friend C made here.
On most days we walk to school in the morning.
C makes me carry her backpack and she walks Jake.
Big news, our girl made Star Student of the Week already!! We are so proud of her. In Kinder she wasn't chosen until the last month. She didn't get picked at all in first grade. (Though truth be told that teacher did Student of the Month and not week. So less chance of getting chosen). But here we are 2 months in to the school year and C was chosen!
Part of the reward was bringing home the class pet, Penny. We had a huge monsoon the weekend Penny visited. Normally this is a dry river bed.
We taught Penny and C how to play Jenga. They both were good and i lost to them.
Penny even got to see The Boxtrolls with us.
Fun weekend and C was sad to see her go!
C has been doing awesome in 2nd grade so far! Her reading is through the roof! She reads an entire chapter book almost every day. Her math has improved dramatically and her spelling is off the charts. We are so proud of all our 2nd grader has accompanied and improved this year!
