Cameron is 2 Months Old

I can hardly believe that our Cameron is 2 months old.  She continues to be such a easy, happy baby.  She is a great sleeper and a great eater.

She still sleeps a lot but is beginning to be awake for longer stretches of time. She has finally gotten her days and nights right and is only waking up about 2 times a night to feed. We are not on any type of schedule. Our schedule revolves around her. She is eating every 4--5 ounces every 3 or 4 hours.

She had been sleeping in her swing or with us. But around 6 weeks she started sleeping in her crib at night. She will still nap in her swing and our beds, but at night she is a big girl.

Her 2 month check up went great. The doctor said she is healthy and right on track. She weighed 12lbs 6 oz and was 24 inches long.  She doesn't go back until 4 months. I will be anxious to see her growth then. She is really beginning to get a personality. She will smile at us and is starting to make noise. She is a very easy baby, most of the time!

Happenings in November

Chandler had a Jingle Bell run at school. These sweet girls are all in her class and all her good friends. They were pretty excited before the run started.

Normally I would participate in something like this with Chandler. But because of Cameron I couldn't. So Chandler ran it by herself.

Cooling down after the race with some popsicles with her best buddy Sophia.

Cameron was excited to watch her big sister run.

Chandler got to attend a very fun birthday party at a fancy hotel. They had a tea party and were waited on by the hotel staff. They played games and got their faces painted. Most of the girls got a cat or butterfly or puppy. Not my girl. She went with a snake! Love it!

We (meaning Cameron and I) spent lots of time in our pajamas. I spent the first few weeks just trying to recover my c-section and learning how to be a momma to 2! Sometimes it was just too much work to have to get dressed too!! Ha!

On November 4th, I turned the big 40!!

I had a few girlfriends take me out to celebrate my birthday. It was fun to get dressed up and have a night out with my girlfriends. I have some great girlfriends and am very thankful for each of them.

Cameron Is 1 Month Old

It's hard to believe that our sweet girl is already 1 month old. Time has been flying by.  She spends most of her time sleeping.

If she is not sleeping she is eating or waiting to eat.

She is a very easy baby. Not much fussing or crying unless she is hungry or tired.

She is growing like a weed. When she was 4 days old she was already out of newborn diapers and into a size 1. When she was 2 weeks old she was out of newborn clothing and into 3 month size.

I believe her stats at 1 month check up were 10 lbs 4 oz. and height was 22 inches.

She is eating 4 ounces every 2-4 hours.

Her favorite places to sleep are on Mommy's or Daddy's chest and our bed. She is a really snugly baby and loves to be held and snuggled.

A Surprise Visit!!

The weekend before my 40th birthday Jeremy gave me an awesome present. One of my BFF's from TN surprised me with a visit to AZ!! She even brought along her daughter who is one of Chandler's best friends. Chandler had a soccer game that morning and Jeremy told me he was headed out for a flight lesson. You can't imagine my surprise when i showed up to the game and saw Karyn and her daughter Hailey walking up to us!! I was speechless for at least a few hours. Hailey is the oldest of 3 girls, so she knows all about holding babies.

The girls hadn't seen each other in at least 2 years but picked their friendship right back up. They went swimming. Yes in November in a non-heated pool!

We took them out to dinner and to see the sunset.

Listening and dancing to the band.

It's great to be alive and with your BFF!

Since Cameron was only 3 weeks old, Jeremy took the older girls to the State Fair. Karyn and I hung out at home and got to reconnect.

Corn dogs are a must at a fair!! Love Hailey's toothless grin!

They came on Saturday and left on Tuesday morning, so Chandler got to miss school on Monday. She was elated. We went out to lunch and then took the girls to a cool park. Jeremy was out of town one of the nights that Karyn was here. So she was able to help me out with Cameron and her feedings at night. Her visit was such a blessing to me.

Me and Karyn on my actual birthday.

And just for giggles... here are Hailey and Chandler when they were almost 2 years old!

Chandler and I are both so lucky to have such sweet friends. And I'm lucky to have a sweet husband who arranged it all.

Meet Cameron Joy

Our girl is growing so fast.  These first few are from our 4 day hospital stay.

I love how sweet she looks when she sleeps. I also love her cute elephant shirt and the cute elephant blanket. Much better than the striped blankets or one with feet they had back when Chandler was born.  And perfect for a fall baby!

At our hospital they did not have a nursery for the babies. So the baby was with you 24/7 after it's birth. Even at night. It was exhausting recovering from major surgery and caring for a newborn. Jeremy was a rock star and stayed with me all 3 nights, sleeping on the small couch. And with Cameron.

Finally at home. I think she is 5 days old here. She looks so alert!

7 days old and headed back to the hospital for some testing.

I changed her diaper and she stayed asleep the whole time and then slept on my lap for over 45 minutes while we waited to be called back for our testing.

Doing what she does best at home, sleeping.

9 days old and waiting to pick up her big sister from school. It is still so hot here!!

We bought her this small crib for our room. This is the only time she slept in it. Every other time I put her in it, she will wake right up and start screaming. She apparently hates it! There goes a good $70 down the drain!

Getting some good snuggles with Momma.

She looks so little in her in big crib. She has only napped in it while I am doing things in her room. She is currently sleeping in her swing or in the bed with one of us at night. But i look forward to having my bed back and her moving to her crib as soon as she starts sleeping a little longer at night.

She is becoming more alert everyday and staying awake for longer periods of time. She is eating about every 2.5 -- 4 hours. She is a easy, calm baby. We are exhausted but so much in love!! She is so worth it!

Cameron's BIRTHday!!

I was set to have my c-section on Oct 13th with my doctor. But I guess baby Cameron had other plans. I woke up around 5am on Sunday morning, the 12th and thought i had wet the bed. With the amount of times I got up to use the bathroom at night it just made sense to me. While I was changing the sheets, I peed on myself again. Silly me, it never crossed my mind that it could be my water leaking. I went downstairs to let Jake out and peed on myself again. Then it finally clicked!! I will just blame it on the early morning hour for it taking me so long to make sense of what was happening. I woke up Jeremy and told him what was going on. We called the doctor on call and began to get the car loaded for the hospital. We woke up Chandler and told her the exciting news. Baby Cameron was coming today!!  I never had a big water break. It was just a continuous leak for 5 hours!! No fun at all!!

At the hospital they checked me in and then checked out my situation. They confirmed it was my water and said i was in the beginning stages of labor. We were so excited. We called a friend to come get Chandler, so Jeremy could be with me. No kids allowed in any rooms, until after delivery. The on-call doctor showed up around 8:30am and said my c-section would happen at 10am.  I had never met this doctor before but she was so calm, sweet and put me at ease right away. They began to prep me for surgery.  And at 10am I was wheeled into the OR.  I was much more nervous this time around. But all the nurses and the anesthesiologist were wonderful! They helped me relax.  The doctor got to work and our miracle girl, Cameron Joy was born at 10:35am!! She was a big girl: 9lbs 7oz.  And that was 8 days early!!

While i was in recovery, Jeremy headed to the hospital to pick up his mom who was arriving at the airport. I got to snuggle with my girl. Around 12:30 I was wheeled up to my recovery room. Our friend brought Chandler back to the hospital and she got to meet her sister. It was such a precious, special moment.

We are so excited that Cameron is here and she is healthy. It still has not hit me that I have 2 daughters!  But i am so thankful for this miracle, surprise of Cameron.

The Week Before Baby

Even though this pregnancy was much harder than my first one and knowing it would be my last, I really tried to enjoy my last week of pregnancy. There wasn't much cooking going on in our house the last week.

I treated myself to a makeover at Clinique.

I was still craving chocolate like crazy. And as a bonus, I got them all for $1 total!

We got one more peek at our baby girl.

Jeremy treated me to a full, professional house cleaning on a rainy day.

And I got to enjoy a movie (the last one I will see for a long time I am sure) that i had been wanting to see.

Only 3 days left until sweet girl arrives!!
