Summer Camp

During the second week of June I found a morning summer camp for C through the city's park and recreation department. C got to attend camp Monday-Thursday from 9:30-12.  Best part, it only cost $25 for the whole week!!!
On the first day we made the mistake of only bringing a drink and not a snack.

We didn't have a lunch box for C yet, so after camp that first day we headed out to Target to get her one. She is all ready on day 2 with her new lunchbox that she picked out herself.

By the 3rd day she was getting in the grove. After breakfast she would pick out a healthy fruit snack and a cracker type snack.

She was such a good sport about letting me take lots of pictures.

Day 4 came much too quickly for both os us!!. She never ceases to amaze me with how friendly she is with other kids. I told someone that if they dropped me off at camp where I didn't know a soul I don't think I would want to go back.  But she had a great time and would just march into the room and start talking to the other kids.

I am so proud of how well she as adjusted to this move. She still talks about her friends in IL, but she is slowly making friends here now. I am so happy for her.  And proud of her.

A Forgotten Photo

I somehow missed adding this photo to the last post on Disney.  Throughout the 2 days at Disney we kept saying we needed to take a group picture.  But it never seemed like a good time. Not sure there is a good time with kids.  But we finally did it.
All the Johnson's at Disney Land. What a fun time was had by all!!

More Disney Land Fun

Day 2 of Disney we dressed the girls in matching t-shirts made personally by Sparky!

C was so excited to be wearing the same shirt as H & T. She told me " We dress and look alike just like sisters!"

C was just as sweet to T as she was to H.  C really took a mothering role with T. Always wanting to hold her hand and make sure she was having fun.  T didn't seem to mind.

She wore her Dumbo hat for most of the day. It was only 77* this day but it sure felt hot. I guess that CA sun is strong!!

Catching the end of a parade.

This picture is not that great and it was from the first day. Karyn was trying to get a picture of H and her daddy and C just ran straight into the picture and posed with them. I LOVE that she feels so comfortable with their family.  Maybe she thinks we are related as we are all Johnsons'?!

C and H were just tall enough to ride some of the bigger rides. Andy and H are in front of me and Daddy and C are in front of them. I think this was big thunder railroad.  They also rode Space Mountain, Tower of Terror, and Raging River Rapids.  C LOVED all of them!!  She must take after her Grandad and mommy.

Late afternoon we headed back to the hotel for some down time and swimming. She told me she was Rudolph. She was being silly. I think the heat had gotten to her.

After swimming we headed back to Disney with Karyn and T.  C was happy to ride next to T. I can't stress how much she LOVES those Johnson girls.!!

We caught another parade.

She had spotted one of the princesses.

She also got to chat with Goofy.

All of the girls loved playing on and not with Jeremy.

Karyn and I both admitted that daddy's are way more FUN than mommy's!

We had to wait in a long line for Soaring.  The girls were hyped up on ice cream and cotton candy and spent the whole hour giggling and telling secrets.  It was great entertainment for the wait.

More secrets.....

Getting ready to Soar.

After we rode Soar, it was pretty late.  We tried to watch a color-water show but it was not holding the girls' attention so we packed it up and headed back to the hotel.  It was after 10pm.  Karyn was so sweet and got all the girls matching jammies.  Daddy wanted to be in the picture too.

3 gorgeous princesses!

Beautiful Johnson girls!!

A huge thankful to Karyn who supplied me with the majority of my photos. I am sad to say I took less than 10 photos of our whole trip.  So many, many thanks Karyn!  I know all the grandparents are very appreciative towards you!!  And thanks for letting us tag along on your Disney trip!

Happiest Place On Earth

After our pit stop in Palm Springs for Saturday night, we got up the next morning and headed to Disney Land.  We got to meet up with Karyn, Andy and their 2 girls Hailey and Tegan from TN. They were taking a vacation and visiting family & friends in CA for a week.  As soon as we got to the hotel on Sunday morning we literally threw our bags in our room and rushed out to catch the shuttle.
C was so excited to see her old BFF from TN.

Catching up with H on the short ride to Disney.

First photo at Disney.

C loves her friends dearly and she was so excited to be with H and T.

So cute!!

Excuse our disheveled looks. Like I said we literally ran to catch the shuttle when we got to the hotel.  I didn't even have time to fix C's hair!!

We caught an end of a mini parade.  The big guy was at the end and looked right at C and waved. She was ecstatic!

Karyn and Andy had a princess lunch with their girls.  So we took C on a few rides while we waited for them. I was impressed that they had some bigger kid rides where C could go as long as an adult was with her.  We took her on these swings, parachuting jelly fish, a flying rocket and Goofy's fly school roller coaster. She of course loved them all!

We met back up with Karyn and Andy and caught the Pixar parade.  The characters in the parade were great and very interactive with the audience.  C was low-fiving one of the monsters from Monsters Inc.

Not a great picture but they both thought they were hot stuff riding by themselves.

Not sure what ride this was but Tegan's face cracks me up!!!  She was definitely not happy sitting with C and H.

Of course we had to stay late and catch the fireworks.

C loved them and was in total awe.  Looks like Karyn was enjoying them too!!

On the way back to the shuttle we stopped in a store. I really wanted to find C a baseball hat.  I had no luck, but she was able to talk Daddy into a Dumbo hat.

First day at Disney was a success!!!

A Stop In Palm Springs

This past weekend we headed to CA to meet up with some friends from TN that were visiting family there.   We had to drive through Palm Springs and so we decided to stay at a swanky hotel for the day/night.

Our room was more like a small house. It even had 2 bedrooms.  C was confused as to why her room had 2 beds in it. We told her one was for her and the other was for Beary Beary.  They both had to get in their beds and test them out.

We got settled and then headed to the pools.

They were gorgeous!! If you look real close you and see C and Jeremy almost at the top.

Here they come!! After riding once with Daddy and once with me, C decided she wanted to ride alone.  She did a great job of waiting her turn in line by herself and then sliding down.

After a day of swimming and a quick shower we got dressed up and headed out for some Mexican food.

It is truly a small world because when we sat down at our table someone at the next table hollered Jeremy's name.  Turns out it was a business friend and his family that were visiting Palm Springs from LA for the weekend.  Crazy!!!  While we ate part of our dinner, the wife in the pink took her twins and C down to the fountain area to dance and play in the water.  I think maybe C was trying to catch her dinner??!!

After dinner we walked around outdoors. The restaurant was connected to a old fancy hotel.  There were mini cottages with front porches. Guest were out playing with dogs, dancing and playing golf.

I found my shoes at TJ Maxx and LOVE them!!

Family photo.

We headed home and finally got C settled in her bed. I went to check on her before I went to bed. She was burrowed under covers and pillows.  She later told me she was a bear and was hibernating for the winter.

We got up early the next morning and headed further into CA.  Next stop, DISNEYLAND!!!
