Catching Up

We had a good long weekend. On Friday evening we went to a neighbors house and they grilled out. There was another couple there that had a 5 yr old girl and 2 year old boy. C instantly connected with the girl and they played together all evening. By the time we left, C had even invited the girl to her birthday party in July! I love how C makes new friends so easily.

On Saturday J and I went to a movie matinee. We saw the Hangover 2. It was not much different than the Hangover. We then went out to eat. It was so nice to spend time alone together and still get home before dark. When we arrived home C asked us why we were home so early. She then told us to leave so Ms. Emily could read her stories and put her to bed!

We had pool and cookout plans for Sunday but they got rained out. On Monday we headed to SF pool which had opened this weekend. We only stayed for about an hour. Guess who forgot the sunblock?! We then had some friends and their kids over for a cookout.

This morning we met our moms group at the splash pad in our neighborhood. C has gotten a lot braver in the water this summer. Here is my silly girl trying to use it as a water fountain.

A friend from C's pre-school also joined us. C adores Paige. They will be in the same class next year too. I love my moms group but I am also excited that we are making friends outside the group too.

We have a busy month of June planned. I hope I can find time to write it all down!

School's Out

C had a great first year of preschool. She has always been eager to learn and a social butterfly, so preschool was an absolute heaven for her. Next year we are returning to the same school. I debated on which days to send her, but finally settled on 4 days a week Mon--Thurs. That will give me some extra time to do things around the house and have some "me time".

Getting bigger, but still a cutie!!

Not This Time

Today was the day we found out if we are pregnant. After daily shots, headaches and extreme exhaustion I am sad to say that we are not. It did not happen this month. I took a test at home on Tuesday and it was negative but I was holding out hope that it was just too early. I took another test this morning and went and had blood work done and both were negative. I am sad. People keep telling me "don't worry, it will happen." But that really doesn't make me feel any better.

And just a picture of my sweet girl watching tv in her new tent.

Chandler's Boyfriends

On Wednesday we went to the park to play with some friends and enjoy the warmer weather. C loves all kids but after awhile some of my friends pointed out that C had quite the following. Where ever she went she was followed or chased after by boys.

This little cutie is Griffin. I think they both have a crush on each other.

Crossing the swinging steps like a big kid. Of course you will notice Griffin waiting for her.

Together again.

There were plenty of girls that she knew at the park to play with. But she only had eyes for the boys. No matter which one she was playing with, there was always another one calling for her or trying to get her attention.

More big kid climbing....please stop growing up C!!

More boyfriends!! Cooper and Brian.

It's real hard to get 3 and 4 yr olds to all look at the camera at the same time!!

Now she is flat out avoiding the camera.

I was always a tomboy and had lots of friends that were boys. Even all the way up through college. So maybe she gets that from me. I keep telling myself, maybe she will always have them as friends and never as boyfriends. Jeremy and I can hope!

My Family

One hot afternoon I got this pool out for C to splash around in. I went to turn the water off and when I returned guess who was in it? Not C! I love this sweet, silly boy.

Just some pictures from Mother's day.

Love this girl.

Being silly.

My world.

Bring On Summer!!

It is May and we are still wearing jackets and gloves. Seriously?!

At least we don't have to trudge to the park to play on the swing set. We play for a bit on ours and then come inside to warm up.

She found my sunglasses and had try them on.

Looking good.
Today was C's last day of preschool. I was sad. C loves it so much and keeps asking when pre-school starts again. Kind of hard to make her understand how far away September is. But we have lots of fun things planned for this summer that will hopefully keep her occupied until school starts again.

Sweet Things She Says & More

C is the sweetest, smartest kid I know. Lately she has been saying some of the cutest things to me.
"Mommy you are the most beautiful girl I know."
"Mommy you are the smartest person in the whole wide world!"
"Mommy, I love to lay in bed and snuggle with you because I love you so much."

She also is super smart for a 3 year old & 4 or 5 year old. One day in the car she was telling me a story about her and her rabbit sneaking out of their bed at night. She said "The rabbit sneak out, no wait the rabbit snuck out of the bed." Tell me how many 3, 4 or 5 year olds know when to use sneak and snuck. I bet not many. This morning she was talking to Jeremy and telling him she wanted to plant an apple tree in the backyard. She said, "first you plant the tree in the dirt. Then in starts to grow leaves, then flowers bloom and then those turn into apples." Jeremy was dumbfounded she knew that. She amazes us every day with how smart she is.

Lately the weather here has been almost like winter. The past 3 days it has been rainy, windy and cold. But C did convince me to let her go play in it for a few minutes.

Happy, cold, wet girl.

C does the best job entertaining herself during quiet time. One day we pulled up to the house and I spotted this.

All her friends had climbed up there during quiet time. Too cute.

I had to go to the fertility doctor twice this past week. I have been very blessed that I have some friends that happily watched C for me. On Friday my friend Gina watched C. She has a son also a C that is exactly 1 year younger than my C. She said they had a great time. You can read all about it on Gina's blog.

Painting In The Treehouse

C asked to paint this afternoon. I suggested we paint outside since it was such a pretty day. I told her to go outside with the paper and brushes while I got the paint. I was surprised when I came out and she had climber up into her "treehouse" and said she wanted to paint up there. But it was a great idea. It was shaded, away from the curious dog and cozy.

Working on her masterpiece.

We were having so much fun that even Jake wanted to come up and join us.

I thought this was funny. The tip of her brush broke off and she almost cried. Her expression is priceless! Love that sweet face!

The Wish-Bone

I came home from the doctor today to find a package addressed to me. I did not recognize the return address. Inside was this necklace, a wish-bone. (Bear with the sunburned, splotchy skin. I chalk it up to the drugs and too much sun).

Attached was this note.

What a sweet, sweet gift from Jeremy's sister. It about made me cry. I put it on and will definitely be wishing on it. Thank you so much for the sweet gift Morgan!!

Needles, Shots & Drugs..Oh My!

Jeremy and I started some fertility treatments this month. I have 4 different kind of drugs currently sitting in my fridge. I never thought I would have one of these. Know what it is? A container to dispose of my needles.

Here is my Epi-pen. It is very easy to work.

Got to love the drugs dripping off the tip of the needle.

I NEVER thought I would be able to give myself a shot. But it turned out pretty easy. This is me multitasking. Who knew I could take a picture while I gave myself a shot at the same time?! I had my friend Stephanie who is a nurse give me my first shot. Stephanie was the one who referred me to my fertility doctor and she has gone down this road before too. It is a hard, emotional, long road and it is nice to travel it with someone who has been there before. I have 2 more days of shooting up (ha, ha) and then I am back to the doctor to see where we stand.

Mothers Day Tea

This morning I had the honor of going to C's preschool for a Mother's Day program. When we entered the classroom all the kids were sitting in a line, blowing us kisses.

All the other girls were wearing cute dresses. My little tomboy was not.

This cute banner greeted us when we arrived. For whatever reason I could not find C's hand prints on the banner. But she told me that she did it.

The kids had a short performance of songs and poems for us. Then it was time for a snack.

We all got to enjoy tea and cake at 10am. What a treat that was!

This is a little letter that C filled out with her teachers. I love how she filled in the blank "All day my mom......." I am sure her teachers got a good chuckle out of that one. I know I did!

Me and my girl.
I am so blessed and thankful to be her mother.
