MOPS and Spoons

On Wednesday we attended our first MOPS (moms of preschoolers) meeting. My friend Julianne is a member of this group and had suggested i joined. The meeting was from 9:30--12:00. Before the meeting i dropped Chandler off in her class "The Butterflys". She would be there for the whole time. Then the moms met in a different room. We had brunch, listend to a few speakers, had some table discussions and then socialized for a bit. When i went to pick Chandler up at noon i was worried that she would be crying. But the ladires watching her said she had been perfect. She played nicely with the other babies and was very ahppy. The only bad thing was she had peed a lot and they had to change her diaper 3 times. And then she had a huge blowout a few moments before i came to get her. They had run out of diapers, but luckily i had some more in my bag. Needless to say Chandler had to ride home without her pants! She was so tired from her morning of play that she was asleep before we made it out of the parkling lot.

The other moms at MOPS were nice. The kids in the group are all different ages, but ther are quite a few born in 2007. The group only meets twice a month. But they have different adult palydates throughout the month. I am looking forward to attending more events with them.

At dinner tonight i realized that Chandler needs to start learning how to ues a spoon and fork. So i let her feed herself her yogurt. She did pretty well, considering it was her first time. Jeremy got an action shot below.

Fun Monday

It is official. It is begining to feel like we are home. This morning we ran some errands and checked out some baby consignment stores. We were strong. We did not buy anything. Then we met my dear friend Amy for lunch at Chik fil A. We went there because Chandler loves their nuggets. I ordered a 12 pack to share with her and she ate 5 of them. plus some grapes and a fry or 2. She was quite the piggy. My friend Amy and i have been friends since my junior yr in college. We use to work together too. So it was fun to see her and catch up. After lunch we came home and Chandler took a long 2 hr nap. Then we had a snack and headed to the small park less thana block away from our house. As you can see Chandler LOVED swinging. She was laughing and sqeauling the whole time! It was a wondeful day.

Getting Settled

A lot has been going on since my last post. We moved into our new house on 09/15/08! Of course the move did not go as smooth as we wished. Jeremy's parents drove up from Fl on Sunday to give us a car we bought from them. On Monday evening i let Chandler stay at the hotel with them, while i had some "me" time. Woudn't you know it she got sick the next day. She stayed sick for 4 days and at the same time is getting 4 new teeth. So it was a bit rough, trying to unpacka nd get organized all the while trying to deal with a sick, cranky baby. But she finally seems to be on the mend. As for the house, we are almost done unpacking. We have the 3rd bedroom and the garage left ot unpack. And only a few rooms left to organzie and hang pictures in. We are wanteing to throa a housewarming party in 2 weeks so we are working towards that goal.
I hvae been without internet acess for 10 days and feel so lost. So if you sent me an e-mail i have not responded that is why. But we are finally up and running and will try to get caught up tonight.
Check back soon, as i will try to get our photos of the house uploaded in the next few days.

Game Day

Football season is upon us. For those of you who don't know, Jeremy is a HUGE Steelers fan so i am one also, by marrige. And I am a huge Florida Gators fan so of course Jeremy is one by marriage. So now Chandler is one too. Today my Gators played Miami and it was a good game. You can tell from the photo below that Chandler and i were ready to cheer them to victory. We bought Chandler the outfit in Jacksonville. We got her a size 18 month thinking that it would fit and have some room to spare. Well it is like a true cheerleading uniform as it barely covers her diaper! But it must have worked as our Gators pulled out a victory! Who can say "Go Gators?!"

Moms Night Out

On Wenesday evening, my friends in my moms group hosted a farewell party for me at the local tavern. It was karaokee night. Some of us had been once before and had a great time. There were 12 moms total that came out to see me off. One of my mom friends Becky made me an awesome scrapbook with pictures of all our friends and babies in it. I do believe it was one of the best gifts i ever received. I was very touched that she put the scrapbook together for me. She also made me a small photo album with tons of photos in it. Both albums will be a wonderful way for Chandler and i to "see" our TX friends regularly! After a few drinks for that ol' "liquid courage" we grabbed the microphones to sing some songs. You can see from the photo below we had a great time. I am excited to be going back to TN, but will miss all my TX friends very much. I love you moms!
